  • Patent number: 6917157
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrode for an electron source, a method for producing the same, and an electronic tube using the same which provide a decreased thickness of an electron emitting source, and an improved current distribution percentage. The electronic tube comprises a substrate, an electron emitting source area formed on the substrate, and a shield area around the electron emitting area. The shield area is formed of a material that does not produce an electron emitting source, when the electron emitting source is produced by a dry method. As a result, if a space between an electron drawing electrode and the electrode for the electron source is narrow, the percentage of anode current increases in the total current, thereby improving the current distribution percentage.

  • Patent number: 5844358
Abstract: A light emitting device is provided including a front panel on which fluorescent elements are arranged in a matrix form and a rear panel onwhich cathodes are arranged in a corresponding relation to the fluorescent elements. The cathodes emit thermoelectrons for causing the fluorescent elements to emit light, and a square frame-like spacer is provided, one opening portionof the spacer being covered with the front panel and the other opening portion thereof covered with the rear panel. A stepped portion for fitting with the spacer is formed in a position of the rear panel to be bonded with the spacer.

  • Patent number: 5581149
Abstract: A display tube for a light source including a translucent face glass assembly having a front surface side which is formed spherically, a peripheral portion on which a step portion is formed, inner surface side on which a phosphor layer and a metallized film are sequentially formed, and a contact segment having one end connected to the metallized film. A glass bulb is provided having one open end portion sealed to the step portion of the translucent face glass assembly with low-melting frit glass. A stem assembly is provided having a anode electrode assembly and a cathode assembly mounted therein. The anode electrode assembly and the cathode assembly are accommodated in the glass bulb. The contact segment is contacted by the anode electrode assembly, the stem assembly being hermetically sealed at the other open end portion of the glass bulb. A high voltage applied to the anode assembly accommodated in the glass bulb is applied to the metallized film through the path of the contact segment.

  • Patent number: 5406170
Abstract: The present invention relates to light emitting devices which emit light upon impingement of thermoelectrons on a front panel having fluorescent elements and where an array of cathodes and electrodes are provided on a substrate within each light emitting device. Thus, in the present invention, first electrode leads having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of the substrate are inserted into and through the substrate, and second electrode leads having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of the rear panel are inserted into and through the rear panel, and the first and second electrode leads are connected such that the substrate is supported at a distance above the rear panel.

  • Patent number: 5304083
Abstract: The present invention relates to a light emitting device which emits light upon impingement of thermoelectrons on a front panel having fluorescent elements. In each bonding surface of a spacer which is bonded to both front and rear panels, a positional deviation or displacement of the spacer with respect to the front panel, the rear panel or a shielding electrode is prevented, whereby there is obtained a light emitting device of high accuracy free of variations in luminance, and it is made possible to reduce a dead space between adjacent light emitting devices and thereby attain a display of high resolution. In order to obtain such display, the front panel and the spacer, as well as the rear panel and the spacer, are respectively bonded through premolded frit glass.
