  • Publication number: 20160257852
Abstract: A method for manufacturing light-colored purified tall oil rosin includes a distillation process of distilling unpurified tall oil rosin in a presence of activated carbon. A method for manufacturing a tall oil rosin ester includes a rosin production process of producing light-colored purified tall oil rosin by this method for manufacturing, an esterification process of carrying out an esterification reaction of the purified tall oil rosin obtained in the rosin production process and alcohols, and an antioxidant-addition-process of adding at least one antioxidant selected from a sulfur-based organic compound, a thiophosphite-based organic compound and a phosphorus-based antioxidant during or after the esterification process.

  • Patent number: 5856386
Abstract: A crystalline thermoplastic resin composition comprises a rosin acid metallic salt and a crystalline thermoplastic resin. Optionally, a compatibilizing agent may also be included. The rosin acid metallic salt, which acts as a crystal nucleating agent, increases the crystallization rate of the crystalline thermoplastic resin and enables the formation of fine crystals of the resin. Thus, the crystalline thermoplastic resin composition can crystallize at a high rate, and provide molded articles having excellent mechanical properties and/or optical properties.

  • Patent number: 5606016
Abstract: A process for preparing colorless rosins characterized by dehydrogenating purified hydrogenated rosins in the presence of a dehydrogenating catalyst. The colorless rosins obtained according to the process of the present invention are nearly colorless in appearance, odorless and excellent in stabilities, particularly are excellent in various properties such as odor, stabilities and compatibility in a heated state. Accordingly the above-mentioned colorless rosins are suitably used not only as modifiers for soap-type cleaning compositions, but also as emulsifiers for synthetic rubbers and emulsion polymerization in the form of alkali metal salts thereof.
