  • Publication number: 20050289215
Abstract: Even when a CPU gains higher performance and a distributed computing environment is being put in place, it is not easy to follow the speed of hardware image processing implemented by dedicated hardware. Hence, jobs of filter processing having a heavy operation load and low distributability are selectively and intensively input to a small number of resources having performance as high as possible. On the other hand, since the color conversion processing and gamma processing have high distributability, even when jobs are input to many resources having low performance, an improvement of the processing speed can be expected. Therefor, color conversion processing and gamma processing distribute jobs to many resources.

  • Publication number: 20050275882
Abstract: When a target device of distributed processing has shifted to a power save mode, if the target device is resumed to the normal operation to attain the distributed processing, resources of the target device which are not required for the distributed processing waste electric power. Therefore, when a print job to be processed by grid processing is received, resources required for the grid processing from resources in a waiting state, and the grid processing is executed to process the received print job.

  • Publication number: 20050275883
Abstract: A mechanism that attains high-speed processing by distributing a great deal of processing to a plurality of devices upon processing does not perform processing distribution which considers hardware resources of devices used in distributed processing. When rendering processing of a print job is executed by distributed processing using devices connected to a computer network, it is determined whether hardware or software rendering processing is executed (S1102, S1103). Image processing devices which can implement hardware or software rendering processing are sought from devices connected to the computer network (S1104, S1106). Based on the determination and seek results, devices to which jobs divided from the print job are transmitted are notified (S1108).

  • Publication number: 20050275884
Abstract: When the distributed load system of grid computing is applied to printers, multi-functional peripheral equipments, and the like connected to a computer network, if a device which inputs a job received from the client is executing processing, the distributed processing requires much time, and the user of the client cannot obtain the print result soon. Hence, when a print job is input, the processing time upon executing distributed processing of data processes in the print job by computer devices connected to the computer network is estimated. Based on the estimation result, the print job or jobs divided from the print job are transmitted to the computer devices connected to the computer network.

  • Publication number: 20050275862
Abstract: In a network print system in which a printer and at least one client are connected to each other through a network, and at least a part of a job for the printer can be subjected to load distributed processing by grid computing, wherein when a printer driver of the printer is installed on any one of the at least one client, the system is adapted to build a grid computing network. In this arrangement, it is easily to build the grid computing network in which the printer job is subjected to load distributed processing.

  • Publication number: 20050275881
Abstract: In a computer system including a job scheduler which divides an input job and determines a client apparatus to assign the divided job, and a task manager which transmits the divided job to the client apparatus determined by the job scheduler, the job scheduler assigns the same job to a plurality of client apparatuses when the number of client apparatuses is larger than the number of divided jobs, and when the job is finished in one of the plurality of client apparatuses assigned the same job, execution of the job in the remaining client apparatuses is canceled so that the time until all jobs are finished is shortened.

  • Publication number: 20050156498
Abstract: In an electron tube including vibration absorbers for linear members such as filaments, a vibration absorbing means that is made of a vibration absorber with a large vibration absorption effect, has a simple configuration, and is attachable easily to filaments is provided. The vibration absorbing means is formed of a holder 231, a vibration absorber 241, and a getter shielding member 251. These three members are attached to a shielding electrode S overlying the front substrate 111 to dispose the vibration absorber 241 between the holder 231 and getter shielding member 251. The vibration absorber 241 is mounted to slide or rotate between the holder 231 and the getter shielding member 251. The vibration absorber 241 has an aperture 2413 in which the filament is engaged. The bottom (apex) of the aperture 2413 is formed eccentrically. The vibration absorber 241 is in line contact with the shielding electrode S, as shown in FIG. 3(c).

  • Publication number: 20050007611
Abstract: By smoothing a full-color image, staircasing of characters even in a gradation image is removed. An area to be smoothed is detected from image data having a plurality of color components, and image data included in the detected area is smoothed in units of color components. Image data which places an importance on resolution is smoothed by increasing the resolution to reproduce smooth characters and figures. Image data which places an importance on gradation characteristic is output without increasing the resolution, thus attaining high-gradation recording. A character or figure is detected from bitmap image data input from external equipment, and is smoothed. In correspondence with the density of the smoothed image data, the pulse width is switched, thereby changing the resolution of image data.

  • Publication number: 20040012812
Abstract: There is provided an image processing apparatus which is capable of maintaining high data security and provide high convenience and high security. When a print request is transmitted from a client PC to a printer in a security print mode, a main CPU of the printer determines whether or not print data received from the client PC is for printing in the security print mode. If the print data received from the client PC is determined to be for printing in the security print mode, the main CPU causes all of the print data and temporary data to be erased from the hard disk.

  • Patent number: 6667571
Abstract: A high-resolution fluorescent luminous tube is provided wherein no light leaks from the gap between electrodes and fluorescent substance layers are formed with high precision. The fluorescent luminous tube includes anode conductors 3 and bars of a grid 8, arranged over an inner surface of a translucent insulating substrate 1 and spaced apart from one another, the anode conductors each having an opening which exposes the substrate, and a fluorescent substance layer 5 formed in the opening. Light emission of the fluorescent substance layer caused by impingement of electrons emitted from a cathode is observed from the outside of the substrate via the opening. The lightproof insulating layer 12 is formed in the gap between each anode conductor and each bar of the grid. The lightproof insulating layer 12 can block light emission leaking to the front surface through the gap between an anode conductor and a bar of the grid formed on the substrate, thus improving the display contrast.

  • Patent number: 6664997
Abstract: A fluorescent print head driving method is provided wherein an operational lifetime is improved by reducing the evaporation amount of Ba contained in an electron emitter material of a filament cathode and suppressing the deterioration of the luminous efficiency. In the pre-luminous period T1 during which luminous dots glow before forming an image on a recording medium, a grid voltage is controlled to be a predetermined voltage of a rated value or less and a filament voltage is controlled to a predetermined voltage of a rated value or less. In the print luminous period T2 during which luminous dots glow before forming an image on a recording medium, a grid voltage blank period is created corresponding to a luminous blank period between glow states during which an anode voltage is written for one line on the recording medium. The anode voltage and the grid voltage are controlled to be a rated voltage with a duty ratio corresponding to a blank period.

  • Patent number: 6556275
Abstract: An optical printer including a fluorescent light-emitting tube equipped with an anode in a form of dot and a rotatable rotating filter part equipped with filters R, G, B. A film is moved relative to the optical printer set at a given position. A controlling means rotates the rotating filter part, and, in synchronization with that, the fluorescent light-emitting tube is made to emit light by the image signal of every color of red, green and blue. The image can be formed by moving the film one time relative to irradiation with the light in a state of a dot transmitted selectively through each filter of red, green and blue. Since the head is fixed and the film is moved, room for the movement of the head which has been conventionally required is not required. Spatial room for the slide of the filter is not required differently from the slide-switching type-filter of the conventional art.

  • Patent number: 6549226
Abstract: An optical printer head capable of providing a distinct image free of color shade and color fading. Dot-like lights different in luminous color emitted from a plurality of fluorescent luminous tubes acting as light sources are guided to a common equi-magnification image formation element through a dichroic optical element while being kept from being aligned or coincident with each other, to thereby carry out image formation on a record medium while being arranged in predetermined positional relationship thereon. Also, optical members may be incorporated in the optical printer head, so that optical path lengths of the dot-like lights different in luminous color may be rendered substantially equal to each other.
