  • Patent number: 9160438
Abstract: A digital broadcast receiver receives a digital broadcast signal through a plurality of antennas, orthogonally demodulates the received signals, performs channel estimation by detecting a delay profile from a known signal included in each of the orthogonally demodulated signals, and uses the channel estimation results to equalize data signals included in the orthogonally demodulated signals. The delay profiles are also used to estimate the signal quality of each of the equalized data signals by determining the power of the signal component and the power of the noise component in each delay profile and calculating a signal to noise ratio. Diversity combining is performed by weighting the equalized data signals on a basis of their estimated signal quality.

  • Patent number: 9014285
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a receiving apparatus and a receiving method capable of preventing phase rotation of a signal after FFT from occurring on a frequency domain. Further, the receiving apparatus according to the present invention is provided with: a window control unit configured to control a position of an FFT window in which FFT is performed to the time domain signal, and output FFT data corresponding to the FFT window; a signal delaying unit configured to generate, from the time domain signal, a plurality of delay signals with different delay amounts; and a signal switching unit having a switch for outputting by switching between two of the time domain signal and the plurality of delay signals based on a predetermined switch timing, the signal switching unit being configured to output the FFT data including the output signal of the switch.

  • Patent number: 7839942
Abstract: In an OFDM receiver with a diversity configuration having a plurality of demodulation modules, to perform FFT window position recovery and clock recovery, the gain values calculated by the AGC units (16, 26) provided in the demodulation modules for adjusting the level of the received signal are supplied to a correlation combiner (35); the correlation combiner (35) multiplies the correlation signals supplied from the correlation detectors (17, 27) in the demodulation modules by coefficients calculated from the gain values, then adds the products to generate a combined correlation signal and supplies it to an FFT window position recovery unit (32) and a clock error detector (33). FFT window position recovery and clock recovery can thus be performed properly without depending on any one demodulation module.
