    Abstract: A paper refeeding device incorporated in a copier for stacking one-sided paper sheets each carrying an image on one side thereof on an intermediate tray and then refeeding the paper sheets from the tray for forming an image on the other side thereof. In a two-sided copy mode operation, the device reduces the copying time while eliminating paper jam, missfeed and other troubles. The device stacks one-sided paper sheets stably on the intermediate tray and refeeds them without any skew. In addition, the device is simple in construction and implements automatic timing control.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus selectively loaded with a two-side unit and a paper cassette storing a stack paper sheets and selectively operable in a two-sided copy mode and a combined copy mode. The body of the apparatus incorporates at least an image forming section, an image fixing section, a paper transporting section, and a paper discharging section therein. An accommodating section is provided in a lower portion of the apparatus body for selectively accommodating either one of the two-side unit and paper cassette. The accommodating section has a bore open at a particular side where the apparatus is to be operated, and a guide potion for guiding the two-side unit and paper cassette. The two-side unit and paper cassette have the same external configuration.

    Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine includes a main housing and an internal frame which can be detachably mounted in position defined in the main housing. The internal frame supports a photosensitive member in the form of an endless belt and a grid electrode. The main housing is provided with a corona discharger comprised of a corona wire and a casing partly surrounding the corona wire to define an opening through which corona ions are emitted. When the internal frame is mounted in position in the main housing, the grid electrode comes to be located opposite to the opening thereby functioning as a part of the corona discharger. Thus, when the internal frame is dismounted, the opening of corona discharger is exposed thereby allowing easy access to the corona wire.

    Abstract: The apparatus comprises a driving mechanism for reciprocating a slider having a contact glass thereon, and a rotation control member which is associated with the driving mechanism and which makes one rotation per two rotations of a photoconductor drum and one reciprocating cycle of the slider. Through the rotation control member, a copying process can be controlled in association with the rotations of the photoconductor drum. The slider can be reciprocated freely when the copying machine is not in operation by the present known slider reciprocating driving apparatus. A stopper for stopping the forward movement of the slider without causing any adverse shock is provided.

    Abstract: Two fixing rollers are mounted on shafts and rotated to pressingly feed a copy sheet therebetween to fix a toner image to the copy sheet. Spring force is applied to the ends of the shafts to urge the rollers together. The axes of the shafts define an acute angle therebetween to offset a tendency for the pressing force to decrease toward the center of the rollers due to deflection of the shafts and rollers. Feed rollers feed the copy sheet into the bite of the fixing rollers at a speed which is faster than the speed that the fixing rollers feed the copy sheet therebetween. The copy sheet is therefore fed through the fixing rollers in a slackened condition which prevents wrinkling of the copy sheet due to the angle between the shafts.
