  • Patent number: 8623464
Abstract: According to a first aspect of the present invention, a process for production of a water-absorbing article including a substrate and a coating film formed on the substrate and formed of a water-absorbing urethane resin is characterized in that: the process comprises an application step of applying a coating liquid to the substrate; the application step includes a step of supplying the coating liquid from a nozzle disposed above the substrate to a surface of the substrate conveyed horizontally; the coating liquid includes a solid matter and a solvent; the solid matter includes a mixture of a polyisocyanate, a polyol having ethylene oxide and a hydrophobic polyol; a concentration of the solid matter in the coating liquid is adjusted within a range from 5 to 30% in mass; and a viscosity of the coating liquid is adjusted within a range from 1 to 3 mPa·s.

  • Patent number: 8106124
Abstract: The present invention relates to an antifogging film formed on a transparent substrate. The antifogging film is characterized in that the film comprises a urethane resin having a water absorption percentage of 20-40 wt %, that the urethane resin is one derived from an acrylic polyol having an average molecular weight of 1000-4000 and a polyoxyalkylene-series polyol having an average molecular weight of 400-5000, that the film is used in an interior environment having a mechanism to forcibly remove water from the film after the water absorption saturation of the film, and that a water film is not formed upon showing antifogging property.

  • Publication number: 20110083584
Abstract: Disclosed is a flaky material formed of an aggregate of fine particles. The aggregate is formed by uniting fine particles to one another. The fine particles are derived from fine particles of an inorganic oxide dispersed in a solvent having an effective (OH?) content of 3×10?5 to 1×10?6 mol/l. The surface of the flaky material has a flatness degree equal to or lower than 0.5 ?m. The flaky material can provide viewers with a high brightness feeling.

  • Publication number: 20100200150
Abstract: A glass window has a multiple glass structure in which a plurality of glass plates face each other, and a film is formed on the glass plate surface that is exposed to a cold environment when the glass window is closed. The film comprises a urethane resin prepared by a polymerization using at least a polyoxyalkylene-series polyol having an average molecular weight of 400-5000 and a hydrophobic polyol. There is used as the hydrophobic polyol an acrylic polyol having an average molecular weight of 500-5000 or a polyester polyol having an average molecular weight of 500-5000 and a hydroxy value of 10-200 mg KOH/g. Thereby, the film absorbs water that is in contact with the film when the glass window is open, and the film releases the water absorbed in the film when the opened door glass is closed, thereby having a condition that the film can absorb water.
