  • Patent number: 6813105
Abstract: A magnetic transfer apparatus includes an inexpensive and small adjusting mechanism for adjusting the positions of the magnetic heads, that facilitates preventing anomaly of drastically changing transferred signal intensity, and a very rigid mounting mechanism for mounting the magnetic heads. The magnetic transfer apparatus includes a magnetic field application means for magnetic transfer, the magnetic field application means applying a magnetic field to the master disc and the perpendicular magnetic recording medium positioned in tight contact with each other or in close proximity to each other, the magnetic field application means including a pair of magnetic heads for magnetic transfer positioned symmetrically with respect to the surface of the perpendicular magnetic recording medium facing to the master disc, the magnetic heads moving always keeping their symmetrical positional relation ship with respect to the surface of the perpendicular magnetic recording medium facing to the master disc.

  • Patent number: 6683744
Abstract: A magnetic-disk evaluation apparatus includes a magnetic head positioned relative to a magnetic disk including temporary servo signals. Fluctuation of a magnetic head in a seek direction is measured using a measurement device. A measuring rotating arm moves in tandem with a rotating stage holding a rotary positioner. The measurement device is on the measuring rotating arm. The rotary positioner is controlled on the basis of temporary servo signals to position the magnetic head on a circle, concentric from a center of a spindle motor. Fluctuation of the magnetic head in the seek direction is measured to detect the displacement of the magnetic head and to determine whether the temporary servo signals are acceptable based upon the displacement and an outside standard.

  • Publication number: 20020141104
Abstract: A hard disc drive employs the self-servo-writing technique that writes practical servo signals on a hard disc based on the temporary servo signals written on the hard disc in advance, includes a holding mechanism that mechanically holds a rotary positioner, a memory which stores an eccentricity signal obtained while the holding mechanism is holding the rotary positioner, and a feedback compensator. The hard disc drive uses the stored eccentricity signal for a reference signal d*, calculates the difference between the reference signal d* and a head position signal x+d, obtains a positioner drive signal in the feedback compensator from the positional error based on the difference, and positions the magnetic head based on the positioner drive signal.

  • Patent number: 6373243
Abstract: A device for positioning control of a magnetic head in consideration of eccentricity amount generated due to chucking under the same structure or condition as a hard disk drive of the actual machine is provided. The device includes a thin suspension for supporting a magnetic head for testing, a thick rotary positioner for supporting the suspension, a voice coil disposed at the reverse direction end of the magnetic head for testing of ends of the rotary positioner, a rotary shaft for supporting the magnetic head for testing, the suspension and the rotary positioner, and a pair of magnets and b for sandwiching the voice coil are provided on a stage, thereby constructing the same mechanism as a hard disk drive of the actual machine.

  • Patent number: 6019209
Abstract: A medium or bill reserving apparatus of the invention receives and reserves at least one individually transferred medium or bill, and discharges the reserved media in a batch. The apparatus is formed of an accumulating wheel having an outer surface and a groove portion opened in the outer surface to receive a tip of the medium for holding. The accumulating wheel is rotated from a medium standby position to a medium release position. A clamper is formed in the accumulating wheel to clamp the tip of the medium introduced into the groove portion and to release the medium at the medium release position, and a medium-accumulating section is formed outside the accumulating wheel for accumulating the medium released at the medium-release position.
