The strain detecting element is configured to have a portion made of polysilicon. The substrate opposing the battery cells across the first member has holes through which the terminals are inserted and a conductor formed therein so as to electrically connect the terminals. The second member opposing the first member across the substrate surrounds the terminals projecting from the holes and covers the substrate with the terminals exposed from the holes. The second member is formed of a material having a thermal resistance greater than or equal to a second threshold.
