  • Patent number: 6899295
Abstract: A spinning reel having a line roller mechanism provided between a bail arm lever and a line slider connected thereto. The line roller mechanism includes a generally cylindrical fishing line guide surface portion along which the fishing line is guided, a first annular guide section positioned in association with the bail arm lever and near the fishing line guide surface, and a second annular guide section positioned in association with the line slider and near the fishing line guide surface. A fishing line nipping surfaces are defined at confronting ends of the first and second annular guide sections. The second annular guide section is slidably movable in the axial direction relative to the first annular guide section. A coil spring is provided for biasing the second annular guide section toward the first annular guide section.

  • Patent number: 6082650
Abstract: A spinning reel for fishing comprises a reel body casing formed with a cam groove, a rotational frame mounted to the reel body casing to be rotatable about a rotational axis thereof, a spool shaft attached to the reel body casing so as to be movable in an axial direction parallel to the rotational direction of the rotational frame, a spool mounted to one end of the spool shaft, a handle lever coupled to the rotational frame to rotate the same, an oscillator mounted to the other end of the spool shaft, an oscillator gear supported by the reel body casing so as to be rotatable about a rotational shaft surrounded by the cam groove in accordance with an operation of the handle lever, and an interlock means provided with a first engaging member engaged with the cam groove and a second engaging member adapted to transfer a motion toward the oscillator.

  • Patent number: 6012666
Abstract: A baitcasting reel comprises a spool which is rotatably supported between a pair of frame plates of a reel frame body or a pair of side plates respectively secured to the frame plates and is connected to a handle through a driving force transmission means, and a clutch mechanism provided in the driving force transmission means, for selectively keeping the spool in any one of a retrieving condition and a casting condition. Both ends of the spool are supported on the frame plates or the side plates through bearings, respectively. The driving force transmission means is connected with the end of the spool through the clutch mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5878972
Abstract: A release preventing device for a fishing reel provided with a one-way clutch that allows a rotating body, such as the spool of a double-bearing type fishing reel and the rotor of a spinning reel, to rotate in one direction but restricts rotation of that rotating body in the other direction. Rotation is restricted in the reverse direction, the direction in which fishing line is released, by a wedge effect, wherein roller members are wedged between an inner race and an outer race.
