  • Patent number: 6883455
Abstract: In a personal watercraft and a buffer member of the present invention, a gunnel or the buffer member (bumper) functions as a sponson. An elongate-plate shaped sponson portion is protruded in a lower portion of a corner bumper provided on a side portion of a body along the longitudinal direction of the body. The sponson portion extends such that its longitudinal direction substantially corresponds with the longitudinal direction of the body. A rear end portion of the sponson portion has a width larger than that of a front end portion thereof. The corner bumper functions as the sponson as well as the conventional buffer member.

  • Patent number: 6244916
Abstract: Provided is an oil feeding structure of a personal watercraft capable of enhancing the appearance design of the personal watercraft and of readily letting air out of a tank during oil feeding, thereby smoothly feeding oil. A surface 15 inclined outward and downward is formed on both sides of the highest portion on a deck 2, that is, a portion between a housing portion B for a storage box 11 and a housing portion S for a steering mechanism. Oil feeding ports 9 and 10 are formed on the inclined surfaces, respectively. First and second oil feeding pipe members 17 and 18 are arranged downward in a substantially vertical direction from the oil feeding ports 9 and 10, and are connected to a fuel tank 7 and a lubricating oil tank 8 substantially rectilinearly, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6234546
Abstract: A lock device of a cover, especially of a hatch cover of a personal watercraft, having operation members disposed on a lower surface of the cover which is locked by an engagement with a hold pin and is released by a releasing operation of the operation members. The locking device includes a frame member having operation members located at both sides of and under the lower surface of the cover. The frame member further includes, a pair of slide members each of which slides in a direction away from the operation member by the releasing operation of each of the operation members, a moving member which is caused to move in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the sliding members in response to the sliding movement of either one or both of the slide members, and an engaging member which moves together with the moving member to move into an engaging hole for engaging the hold pin.
