  • Patent number: 11959147
Abstract: A top-blowing lance nozzle is configured to freely switch an adequate expansion condition so as to control an oxygen-blowing amount and a jetting velocity independently of each other without requiring a plurality of lance nozzles or a mechanically movable part. A lance nozzle is configured to blow refining oxygen to molten iron charged in a reaction vessel while a gas is blown from a top-blowing lance to the molten iron. One or more blowing holes for blowing a working gas are on an inner wall side surface of the nozzle, at a site where the lance nozzle has a minimum cross-sectional area in a nozzle axis direction or at a neighboring site of the site.

  • Patent number: 7433411
Abstract: A decoding apparatus for selectively decoding compressed video or audio signal included in a data signal. The decoding apparatus includes a demultiplexer that receives and separates a data signal from a compressed input signal. A video decoder and an audio decoder are provided to decode compressed video or audio signals stored in a decoder buffer. The decoding apparatus uses a memory to store the data signal separated by the demultiplexer, and a CPU to analyze the data signal stored in the memory. The CPU causes the data signal analyzed by the CPU to be stored in the decoder buffer if the analyzed data signal includes a compressed video signal or a compressed audio signal, and the compression method used for the compressed video signal or the compressed audio signal included in the data signal can be decoded by the video decoder or the audio decoder.

  • Patent number: 7352877
Abstract: In order to avoid content deteriorations caused by embedment of a digital watermark into a moving picture, a process to search a picture for a motion and a process to filter a picture for medical care must be carried out, raising a processing cost. It is thus difficult to implement equipment for processing such pictures at a low cost. In a compound apparatus for encoding compressed code of a moving picture by employing a unit for embedding a digital watermark into a picture, a digital-watermark embedment quantity is determined by using a motion vector and a quantization parameter in a process to embed a digital watermark into the picture. It is thus no longer necessary to carry out the process to search a picture for a motion and the process to filter a picture for medical care for embedment of a digital watermark so that the cost of the entire apparatus can be reduced substantially.

  • Publication number: 20060233522
Abstract: A video processing technique which enables users to effectively watch highlight scenes while listening to audio part thereof in a short period of time is disclosed. Upon input of video data, highlight scene data describing therein a highlight scene(s) in the video data is input or generated. Then, based this highlight scene data, determine a default playback parameter. Control is provided to reproduce the highlight scene(s) of the video data in a way such that when inputting a parameter for determination of a playback scene(s), this input playback parameter is used while giving thereto higher priority than the default playback parameter.

  • Publication number: 20060236145
Abstract: A contents reproduction device realizes reduction of power consumption by controlling power supply control according to the input contents. More specifically, in the contents reproduction device, the PSI analysis unit analyzes additional information in the inputted contents so as to check whether video contents are contained or the signal detection unit checks whether the inputted contents contain a video signal. According to the check result, the video information detection unit detects whether the inputted contents contain video information and outputs the detection result to the power control unit. When the inputted contents contain video information, the power control unit supplies power to the display. When no video information is contained, the power control unit stops power supply to the display and turns off power supply to the display.

  • Publication number: 20060222337
Abstract: A digest reproducing apparatus which creates and shows a digest which gives an overview of a whole motion video content regardless of the number of scenes included in an original content. To achieve the above technique, for example, we need to record data on plural still images obtained by encoding plural consecutive still images in time order, detect a scene change in a motion video obtained by reproducing the still image data in time order, calculate an index value indicating the significance level of each still image in the motion video from the still image data, rank scenes in the motion video based on index values indicating the significance levels of still images, and reproduces digest still images included in a specified number of scenes selected according to the ranking.
