    Abstract: A communication device is included in an ad hoc network in a reactive routing scheme. The communication device includes a receiving unit, a selecting unit, and a transfer control unit. The receiving unit receives a route request frame including overall quality information on routes through which the route request frame has passed. The selecting unit selects a route request frame to be transferred to another communication device based on the quality information, from the route request frames received by the receiving unit through a plurality of routes. The transfer control unit transfers the route request frame selected by the selecting unit to the another communication device, and discards the route request frame when a quality value indicated by the quality information of the route request frame is smaller than a predetermined reference value.

A comparison arithmetic unit performs a comparison between each of the acquired wavelength-by-wavelength power level values of the optical signals, and a predetermined upper limit value and a predetermined lower limit value. A target value calculation unit determines target values of power levels at wavelengths whose acquired power level values exceed the upper limit value to be values between a center value and the upper limit value, and determines target values of power levels at wavelengths whose acquired power level values fall below the lower limit value to be values between the center value and the lower limit value.

The reflection surface is formed so that light entering from the end faces of the optical fibers into the member body will be internally reflected toward the optical input/output terminal in the member body. The end placement portion is filled with an adhesive by which the ends are fixed to the member body.

    Abstract: There is provided a shutdown controller that monitors the temperature of an optical multiplexer and maximizes the loss of an optical attenuator when a temperature monitor result is abnormal. An optical level change detection circuit section is disposed with respect to an optical level monitor of individual monitors in an optical add/drop multiplexer. An optical level monitor of a total main signal is disposed downstream of the optical multiplexer. The inconsistency of the wavelength number is detected by comparing the total of the optical level monitors of the individual channels with the optical level value of the optical level monitor, upon which shutdown control is performed in which the loss of the optical attenuator is maximized in only the channel whose optical level change is detected by the optical level change detection circuit section.
