  • Publication number: 20090061332
Abstract: The present invention provides an image-recording material support having high surface smoothness and excellent gloss, a method for producing the same and an image-recording material using the image-recording material support. To this end, the present invention provides a image-recording material support which has a raw paper and a polymer coating layer on both surfaces of the raw paper, wherein the raw paper has a value of tensile energy absorption (TEA) in the CD direction/basis weight of 1,000 mJ/g to 2,100 mJ/g and is subjected to a soft calender treatment such that a surface of the raw paper on which an image is to be recorded makes contact with a roller having a surface temperature of 200° C. to 350° C.

  • Publication number: 20070122596
Abstract: The present invention aims to provide an electrophotographic image-receiving sheet which can be more easily and efficiently manufactured and shows excellent image quality and glossiness, to provide a process for manufacturing the electrophotographic image-receiving sheet, and to provide a process for image formation using the electrophotographic image-receiving sheet. An electrophotographic image-receiving sheet which includes a support and a toner image-receiving layer which is to be disposed on at least one surface of the support and contains a thermoplastic resin, in which the electrophotographic image-receiving sheet is formed by soft calender treatment using a metal roller having surface temperature of glass transition temperature (Tg) of the thermoplastic resin minus 30° C. or more and the glass transition temperature plus 50° C. or less, so that the metal roller contacts a surface of the toner image-receiving layer.

  • Publication number: 20060275587
Abstract: A support for an image recording medium comprises base paper and a polymer coating layer which is formed on both surfaces of the base paper with an obverse side surface (a side for image recording) calendered at a surface temperature between 200 and 350° C. and treated by corona charge treatment at a wattage density between 15 and 150 W/m2/min. The obverse side polymer coating layer contains 50% by mass of polyethylene resin having MFR between 10 and 20 and a density between 0.195 and 0.930.
