  • Patent number: 8094996
Abstract: Recording of video data is enabled by a management structure of a clip which is compatible with a BD-ROM standard. In accordance with the recording starting operation, the recording of a stream in which the video data and audio data have time-divisionally been multiplexed on a packet unit basis onto a recording medium is started. In accordance with the recording stopping operation, the stream stored in a buffer is written as a stream file onto the recording medium and a clip information file corresponding to the stream file is formed. A play item showing the whole clip information file is formed and added to the existing play list on the recording medium. A mark is stamped to the play list at time corresponding to an IN point of the play item. Subsequently, the play item which is formed in association with the recording start and stop is similarly further added to the existing play list and the mark is further stamped at the time corresponding to the IN point.

  • Patent number: 7865066
Abstract: Disclosed are: an information recording technology capable of shortening the termination process time when the recording ends; and an information recording technology capable of recording independently of limitations due to the maximum number of video title sets and titles, wherein information is recorded on a recording medium according to recording instructions such as a recording start instruction and a recording stop instruction. During a finalization process, management information is generated and is recorded on the recording medium. Based on this management information, the information generated by a single recording instruction is managed as one chapter. At least one chapter is managed as one title. At least one title is managed as one video title set.

  • Patent number: 7839749
Abstract: The present invention relates a recording apparatus and a recording method, a reproducing apparatus and a reproducing method, and a program that make it possible to easily judge whether data was recorded in a recording medium by an apparatus of own model. An own model/another model information generating unit 41 generates, for each arbitrary recording unit, own model/another model information that is information indicating that the recording unit was recorded by an apparatus of own model. A discrimination code calculating unit 42 sets VMGI and an effective management table TV as a continuous data sequence and sets a result of calculating a hash value of the data sequence as a discrimination code. A recording and reproducing apparatus 1 records the discrimination code and the own model/another model information in a management table TV area of an optical disk 51.

  • Patent number: 7835621
Abstract: An encoding controlling apparatus is disclosed which includes: offset holding means for holding an offset equivalent to a time period by which to start encoding an audio signal earlier than a video signal upon recording of a chapter; recording mode determining means for determining whether a seamless connection is possible between the preceding chapter and the following chapter in order to set an initial value of the offset depending on an outcome of the determination; offset updating means for updating the offset in keeping with progress in encoding the video signal and the audio signal; and recording controlling means for giving an instruction either to start or to stop the encoding of the video signal and the audio signal in accordance with the offset. The inventive apparatus controls the encoding process in keeping with the offset between the audio and video signals, thereby achieving seamless connection between chapters without incurring discrepancies between the video and audio signals.

  • Publication number: 20100278514
Abstract: A configuration is provided which realizes efficiency of playback and editing of recorded data in an information recording medium. Recording is performed of GOP attributes, as mark management information corresponding to a PLM (=EM) mark serving as playback start point information stipulated in the AVCD format, indicating whether or not a GOP including the mark is a GOP needing decoding information of another GOP at the time of decoding processing of the GOP, and playback and editing are performed referencing these information, thereby preventing decoding unnecessary in playback processing, and enabling editing without leaving data unnecessary in editing processing.

  • Publication number: 20100183277
Abstract: A lateral shake prevention when a video picked up by a digital camera is reproduced is realized, and viewing on a large screen television set is made comfortable. At the time of the image pickup recording, face detection position center coordinate data is recorded in an attribute information unit of a stream as ARI data for each VOBU (GOP) in units of 0.5 seconds. At the time of the reproduction, the ARI data of GOP stream is collectively read ahead in units of RUV at the time of the reproduction of the video included in detection data of the face center position coordinate to read a large number of VOBUs in advance, an interpolation of missing times in units of GOP with respect to the face center position coordinate is performed, and a screen shift amount is subjected to a time axis smoothing computation through a time moving average computation in a frame unit.

  • Publication number: 20100061700
Abstract: Under a device use environment in which a plurality of video-signal formats are present together, an operation of a video signal on a medium is performed in accordance with a proper video-signal format. In a UIAppInfo within a basic file of a loaded medium, reading is performed to detect which is set to 1, Is60 or Is50, and it is determined whether the read video-signal format matches a video-signal format supported by a target apparatus. In a case in which they match, use of the medium such as recording or playback is started; however, in a case in which they do not match, the use of the medium is not performed. The recording of streams of different video-signal formats is not performed on the same medium, the recording being a recording operation that is not allowed by AVCHD.

  • Patent number: 7672565
Abstract: If it is detected that moving image data stored in a buffer increases in size beyond a first size and then reaches a second size, a portion of the moving image data from a head thereof stored in the buffer, corresponding to the first size, is retrieved and output as a moving image object. If it is detected that the final moving image data belonging to a chapter is stored in the buffer, the whole moving image data stored in the buffer is retrieved and output as a moving image object. Even immediately after the moving image data corresponding to the first size is retrieved from the buffer, the moving image object of the second size for seamless connection between chapters is acquired.

  • Publication number: 20100034508
Abstract: Division editing of a movie stream file picked up for a recording application is executed while conforming to a predetermined standard format. When a stream file is divided at an arbitrary division point, a preceding chapter is created by giving padding in an end region of a GOP including the division point in accordance with a length alignment restriction. Furthermore, a first extent of a succeeding chapter is created by copying the GOP including the division point and a GOP immediately succeeding it, a region formed of GOPs after the copied portion is used as a second extent of the succeeding chapter, and padding is given to an end region of the second extent in accordance with the length alignment restriction.
