  • Patent number: 5244587
Abstract: A lubricant to be sprayed onto the surface of a steel material for forming a lubricant coat on the surface of the steel material to be forged. The lubricant comprises a particulate lubricant composed of thermally melting resin mixed with inorganic lubricant. The particulate lubricant is applied onto the surface of a steel material to be forged. Before or after applying the particulate lubricant onto the surface of the steel material, the surface of the steel material is heated. Consequently, the thermally melting resin melts and coheres with the inorganic lubricant over the surface of the steel material, resulting in the formation of a uniformly thick lubricant coat over the steel material. The lubricant coat prevents the steel material from being burnt in a forging device even during hot forging. The lubricant coat is fit for the forging of hard to work steel material. The lubricant coat also contributes to the decrease in forging cost, without deteriorating the forging environment.

  • Patent number: 5209427
Abstract: A brake mechanism including a brake member, an urging force switching member pivotable and movable among a plurality of specified positions, and a single elastic member arranged between the brake member and the urging force switching member. By switching one of the action positions of the urging force switching member to another, a different urging force is applied to the brake member from the single elastic member according to the action positions. A drive and control member separately performs a switch-over between the pressing position and the releasing position of the brake member and a switch-over of one of the action positions of the urging force switching member to another.

  • Patent number: 5184709
Abstract: A coin selector includes a single coin passage and a single coin rolling-down passage. The coin passage is equipped with a coin discriminating mechanism so as to discriminate whether a coin inserted through a coin insert slit is a true coin or a false coin, and moreover, discriminate the kind of the coin which has been recognized as a true coin. On the other hand, the coin rolling-down passage is equipped with a coin distributing mechanism so as to selectively distribute the true coin conveyed from the coin passage depending on the kind of each coin. Conculsively, the coin selector is contructed in a very compact configuration.

  • Patent number: 5081858
Abstract: A method for forming a lubricant coat on a surface of steel slug to be forged and a forging device provided with a lubricant coat forming system. The method makes possible the forging of hard to work material, such as stainless steel. Highly durable parts can be manufactured easily. The durability of the metal molds of the forging device is increased, thereby decreasing the cost for the manufacture of the parts. In the method, the uniformly thick lubricant coat can be formed easily even on the transformed end surfaces of the material being worked, providing effective lubrication. The lubricant coat forming member can replace the oil lubrication of the related-art forging device of the inline type, in which the cut end surfaces of the material are not lubricated, without modifying the structure of the related-art forging device especially.

  • Patent number: 5038068
Abstract: A thin film pattern and a method of fabricating the thin film pattern available for an ultrasonic transducer are disclosed. That is, an oriented thin film made of a material different from the material of a substrate is formed on the substrate, a mask having a predetermined pattern is formed on the thin film, and anisotropic etching is carried out for the thin film in accordance with the predetermined pattern of the mask, by using an etchant for selectively etching a predetermined crystallographic plane parallel to the surface of the thin film, to form the predetermined pattern in the thin film, thereby obtaining a thin film pattern.

  • Patent number: 5035478
Abstract: A material for an optical component comprising polytungstic acid having peroxo groups, and an optical component, at least part of which is constituted of a thin film of the above-mentioned material. By using this material, a thin film of an inorganic material having an excellent stability is formed by the inexpensive wet painting method. An optical component using the above-mentioned thin film can be formed on an arbitrary substrate with high accuracy at a low temperature of about 100.degree. C. or below. The polytungstic acid may contain carbon as a heteroatom and/or may have Nb, Ti, V, Ta and/or Mo substituted for part of W.

  • Patent number: 4951161
Abstract: In a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus of the helical scanning type the rotation speed of the reels in operation is detected and it is judged to be abnormal, if the rotation speed exceeds the upper limit thereof. This upper limit can be varied, depending on various operating modes. When an abnormality is detected, the brake of the reels is driven and the rotation of the drum is stopped. After the tape has been stopped, the tape is unloaded while rotating the supply side reel and the take-up side reel, the drum remaining not rotated.
