  • Publication number: 20180210690
Abstract: A printing system includes a printing apparatus that stores print data and a mobile terminal. The printing system determines whether or not the mobile terminal and the printing apparatus are in a closer state to each other than a predetermined distance, based on field intensity of a packet. The printing system sets whether to perform printing triggered by the closer state, based on a user operation, and controls the mobile terminal to transmit information to the printing apparatus, if certain conditions are met. The printing system controls the mobile terminal to not transmit information to the printing apparatus even if it is determined that the mobile terminal and the printing apparatus are in the closer state, and controls the printing apparatus to perform printing based on the print data stored in the printing apparatus in a case when the printing apparatus receives the transmitted information.

  • Patent number: 9904227
Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus that can detect a replacement of toner cartridge and can accurately manage information after the replacement even if serial numbers of the toner cartridges before and after the replacement are identical to each other. Each toner cartridge is provided with a nonvolatile memory that can record cartridge information, such as printed page count value (i.e., total number of printed sheets) and beginning-of-use date and time. The image forming apparatus includes a device built-in memory that can store and update the cartridge information. The image forming apparatus refers to and compares the cartridge information about two cartridges that are likely to be replaced at arbitrary timing and identifies the replacement of the toner cartridge if any discordance is confirmed.

  • Patent number: 7843587
Abstract: When a sheet remains in a staying portion of a printer for executing alternating sheet feed duplex printing, a printer driver precedently transfers print data of a page to the staying sheet to the printer in page order different from order of pages to be normally transmitted upon alternating sheet feed duplex printing. Thus, when two-sheet stay alternating feed is executed in the duplex printing without providing a memory of a large capacity, even if a no-sheet error occurred in a sheet feeding portion, the staying sheet can be preferentially printed and ejected.

  • Publication number: 20080144126
Abstract: At least one exemplary embodiment is directed to an image processing apparatus configured to store moving image data including a plurality of continuously existing frames including at least a first frame and a second frame. The image processing apparatus detects a degree of clearness of an image included in the frame of the stored moving image data. Furthermore, the image processing apparatus compares a first image included in the first frame with a second image included in the second frame according to the detected degree of clearness. Moreover, the image processing apparatus selects a frame having a clearer image from among the first and the second frames according to a result of the comparison. In addition, the image processing apparatus extracts the selected frame as still image data and prints the extracted still image data.

  • Patent number: 6137587
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to shorten the time required to release an information processing apparatus such as a host computer from an output apparatus such as a printer when print information is transmitted from the information processing apparatus to the output apparatus. In step S501, print information is received. In step S502, it is checked whether information from another I/F is being processed. If YES in step S502, the print information is compressed and stored in a reception buffer. If NO in step S502, the flow directly advances to step S505 to store the print information in the reception buffer without compression.

  • Patent number: 6035149
Abstract: An output apparatus and method receives first information from an external source, generates second information based on the received first information, and outputs the generated second information. The apparatus includes a selector for discriminating the received first information by comparing a code included in the first information with codes provided in a number of analyzers and for selecting one of the number of analyzers suitable for the first information. The apparatus also includes a controller for skipping the received first information when the selector can select no suitable analyzer, when no data is input for a predetermined time to an input interface via which the first information was received, or until the input interface is switched.
