  • Patent number: 8269126
Abstract: The invention provides a gas insulated switchgear, and a method for detecting arc damage in a part used in a gas insulated switchgear, which detect directly when an electric contact or a peripheral part reaches an initially set wear limit. An insulating nozzle of a circuit breaker contains a marking substance that releases a gaseous substance inside a circuit breaker gas container as a result of wear by an arc. For ensuring heat resistance and insulation properties, the insulating nozzle is ordinarily formed of a fluororesin, but in the present invention, it is formed of the ordinarily used fluororesin having uniformly mixed therein, as the marking substance, a chlorine-containing resin which has excellent heat resistance and insulation properties such as polyvinylidene chloride.

  • Patent number: 4464046
Abstract: In a copying machine having an optical system for directing an image from a microfilm onto a photosensitive drum either of two fixed focus projecting lenses may be moved into alignment with the microfilm. Each projecting lens is provided with an adjustable drive system for moving the projecting lens along the optical axis thereof to vary the magnification. A plurality of mirrors are provided for reflecting the image received from said projecting lens onto the photosensitive drum. Two of the mirrors are supported at right angles to each other on a support member for reflecting an incident beam of light on one of the mirrors in a direction opposite and parallel to the incident light beam. A drive system is provided for moving the support member parallel to the incident light beam for varying the length of the optical path.

  • Patent number: 4397540
Abstract: A copying machine has an optical mechanism which varies a back focal length of a lens. A control circuit generates a control signal so that the optical mechanism changes the back focusing length of the lens so the lens is first focused on an upper surface of a microfilm and then on a lower surface of the microfilm. An optical sensor generates separate light quantity signals for each focusing position of the lens and these signals are held and compared in a circuit which then determines which surface of the microfilm bears a picture. The optical mechanism then appropriately adjusts the back focal length of lens.

  • Patent number: 4391040
Abstract: A hair cutting unit device for the human head includes a movable open-ended casing in which an electrically operated clipper is mounted on guide means for movement. The blades of the clipper are in the open end of the casing. The position of the clipper with respect to the casing will fluctuate so that the cutting blades are moved away from the open end as the unit is moved upwardly on a head from the lower hairline so as to gradually increase the length of hair being left on the head. Rotary drums and threads in the casing are connected to a fixed member in which the head is positioned to effect translation of the clipper relative to the casing in response to movement of the unit upwardly from the lower hairline.

  • Patent number: 4284022
Abstract: An apparatus used for forming lips by outwardly bending the end of a metal plate which may be joined with the bent end of another plate so as to form a duct used for an air-conditioning ventilation system. The end to be bent is reinforced with a continuous guide member connected thereto, said guide member being generally L-shaped in cross-section, leaving a given width to form a lip. The bending apparatus is comprised of a roller for engaging and rotating along the guide plate which serves as a supporting member and a guide rail. The apparatus is further comprised of a pressing disc for contacting under pressure the end to be bent. The disc acts in cooperation with the engaging roller at a position opposite thereto. Accordingly, the end is bent as the disc and roller are rotated. The bending apparatus is designed to move along said reinforced guide, bending the end of a metal plate so as to continuously form a lip which is L-shaped in cross-section.

  • Patent number: 4150483
Abstract: A suction type hair cutting device which is comprised of a casing, a suction passage housed by said casing and connected to a vacuum source, and an inlet at the end of said suction passage provided with a fixed blade and an arcuate oscillatory blade. The arcuate oscillatory blade is directly driven by a crank at the output shaft of a motor mounted on the casing, or is driven by a gear mechanism which is rotatable through a flexible wire or the like, whereby the arcuate oscillatory blade is slidably oscillated relative to the fixed blade. The suction inlet is provided with means for controlling or turning air flow rearwards of said both blades which are adjacently elastically arranged to each other, so as to cut hair positively. The cutting hair length may be easily adjusted with the provision of a suction tube which can be connected to said suction inlet, the suction tube being adjustable in its axial length.
