    Abstract: A color image forming process which comprises processing a photographic light-sensitive element comprising a support having thereon a layer containing imagewise distributed silver therein with an aqueous alkaline solution containing a stannous ion and in the presence of a dye and a bispyridinium compound represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents a lower aliphatic hydrocarbon group or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are bonded each other to form a ring; n represents 0 or 1; and X.sup.- represents an anion; to bleach the dye in an imagewise manner. By the process of the present invention, color images which are stable to light, heat and moisture are formed using light-sensitive elements containing a reduced amount of silver salt and without using chemicals causing environmental pollution problems for the processing.

    Abstract: A compact optical lens barrel mechanism for relativenonrotational displacement of a series of lens elements forming an optical system is provided. Lens elements can be mounted for selective subdivision into operative lens groups for both focusing and introducing a variable soft focus condition. The barrel mechanism includes a mounting cylinder having appropriate linear alignment elements. A translational cylinder is rotatively journalled within the mounting cylinder. Three lens mounting members can be relatively movable and are designed to each carry a predetermined number of lens elements. The rear lens mounting member can be moved by the translational cylinder to provide a variable amount of spherical aberration to produce a soft focus condition. An exterior focusing ring and a soft focus condition ring can be rotatively mounted relative to the stationary mounting cylinder for linearly moving the respective mounting members.

    Abstract: An enlarger lens barrel has a cavity provided with an outwardly directed window and a longitudinal bore defining a light passageway between the cavity and the enlarger light source. A diaphragm aperture adjusting ring is rotatable on the barrel and carries a transparent indicator ring provided with aperture designating characters which are movable with the indicator ring across the window. Housed in the cavity is a transparent light guide member having a cylindrically concave radially extending face confronting the bore and a transversely ribbed inside face including longitudinally and slightly radially spaced transverse faces reflecting light incident thereon from the passageway to the window to longitudinally spread the light incident thereon which is transversely diverged by the concave face. The rings are longitudinally shiftable between increment and continuous adjustment positions.
