  • Patent number: 4126872
Abstract: In the disclosed arrangement, an energy storage device such as a capacitor is discharged through a flash lamp. A sensing device produces a signal when the storage voltage is sufficient to fire the lamp. A switchover device normally permits the shutter and exposure aperture to be set for daylight operation, but automatically responds to the signal to switch the shutter speed and the exposure aperture to suitable values for flash operation.

  • Patent number: 4126874
Abstract: A power supply circuit for a camera wherein a detection circuit which detects the voltage of a power source is provided for supplying an electric power to the electric circuit of the camera only when the detected voltage is above a preset value. In the power supply circuit, the power supply is controlled by a detection output obtained after a voltage detecting action is performed in a stable condition by the detection circuit. The power source voltage is detected in a manner suitable for the characteristic of the battery employed. Further, the voltage detection is performed only momentarily to prevent unnecessary power consumption for voltage detection.

  • Patent number: 4096493
Abstract: A photographic camera having a manually and automatically adjustable diaphragm is provided with an electromagnetically operated diaphragm scanning mechanism in combination with a manually operable depth of field pre-viewing device to enable a visual determination of the utilizable zone of sharpness in a reflex viewfinder of the camera regardless of the fact that the camera remains in the run down position. For this purpose, the diaphragm scanning mechanism includes a scanning member and a driving member arranged to establish driving connection therebetwen during the automatic adjustment of the diaphragm. Release means is provided and is responsive to the termination of closing operation of the camera shutter for effecting release of the driving connection, whereby the photographer before cocking the camera is enabled to manipulate the diaphragm followed by the pre-viewing device to read off the range of sharpness in dependence on the manual setting of the diaphragm for use in making a subsequent exposure.

  • Patent number: 4092652
Abstract: The analog signal corresponding to the brightness of the object to be photographed is converted into a digital signal by means of an A-D converter while a shutter control means adjust the shutter mechanism in accordance with the digital signal stored in the A-D converter whereby at the same time, a digital information indicating circuit indicates digitally the digital signal stored in the A-D converter. Hereby, the digital information indicating circuit is connected with the timing pulse forming circuit in such a manner that the indication circuit repeats the indication by means of the timing pulse forming circuit with a period allowing the photographer to visually recognize the digital information of the indicating circuit.

  • Patent number: 4089011
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exposure information setting device for a camera having a digital control system in which the aperture value of the lens is applied to the exposure amount control circuit as digital information by means of the aperture value setting mechanism. The device is so designed that the first comb tooth shaped conductor pattern and the second comb tooth shaped conductor pattern are arranged in parallel with each other in such a manner that a phase difference takes place between them. A pair of series of pulses are obtained by making the contact in functional engagement with the aperture value setting operation, moving slidingly over the first and the second conductor patterns. The direction along which the aperture value information varies is detectable by applying the pair of series of pulses thus obtained to the exposure operational circuit through the phase sorting circuit.

  • Patent number: 4037233
Abstract: An exposure control device is disclosed which has an extremely high accuracy as compared with the prior art, the error range being within a one-eighth step. For such a highly accurate control of exposure time, a value of exposure time to be determined is converted to a binary code of n bits, of which the lowest one bit is weighed one-eighth step. Based on the decimal number corresponding to the upper m bits of the binary code, the frequency of the control signal is adjusted and is used in reading out the lower (n - m) bits of the same binary code, whereby the period of actuation of the shutter is determined.

  • Patent number: 4020433
Abstract: The device includes a permanent magnet for attracting a movable iron armature. A pair of elongated rectilinear magnetic bodies have planar pole faces at one end facing the iron armature, and the permanent magnet is sandwiched between these two magnetic members intermediate their ends, with the permanent magnet extending perpendicularly to the magnetic members. Respective magnetizing windings embrace each magnetic member between the permanent magnet and the pole faces of the members, to produce a magnetic flux in the magnetic members opposing the flux provided by the permanent magnet so as to release the iron armature. In one embodiment of the invention, the other ends of the members, projecting beyond the permanent magnet, are angled to face each other to provide an air gap therebetween.
