  • Patent number: 6380970
Abstract: In a case of obtaining a line-shaped image through image processing using a computer, an amount of data to be processed is reduced and a final stereoscopic image is formed by using a usual image. A plurality of two-dimensional images having different parallaxes are converted into line-shaped images, with forming a first image from the line-shaped images in view of projection angles of lenticular lenses, a second image is formed by a usual planar image, and a composite image formed by the first image and the second image is formed on a recording medium disposed beneath the lenticular lenses.

  • Patent number: 6122067
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming compressed images, to be seen through a lenticular film, reduces the time required for the formation of the compressed images and maintains an acceptable quality of the compressed images. First image data relating to a plurality of original images having different parallaxes are stored in a memory and later edited. Second image data relating to a plurality of linear fragmentary images are formed by dividing the edited first image data into sections such that the dividing lines run parallel with a longitudinal direction of the original images. The linear fragmentary images are thereafter expanded in the longitudinal direction. Compressed images are formed by interleaving the linear fragmentary images.

  • Patent number: 5479229
Abstract: A camera for stereoscopic photography functionable both in a stereoscopic mode and in a normal mode comprises a camera body, a plurality of lenses provided on the front face of the camera body and arranged horizontally in a line, a plurality of film chambers provided inside of the camera body and each corresponding to each of the plurality of lenses, a plurality of partition members each provided between two adjacent ones of the plurality of film chambers and defining the width in the horizontal direction of each of the plurality of film surfaces, and a changeover mechanism for changing over from a stereoscopic mode to a normal mode and vice versa. One the plurality of lenses is used for both the stereoscopic mode and the normal mode. Two of the partition members provided on both sides of the film chamber provided corresponding to this lens for both-mode purpose are movable in order to change the transverse width of a film surface used for both-mode purpose.
