  • Patent number: 6945392
Abstract: A container includes a housing for containing an O2-generating composition. The housing includes a venting layer and a structural layer associated with the venting layer. The venting layer has a venting layer O2 passage rate and a venting layer surface area, while the structural layer has a structural layer O2 passage rate and a structural layer surface area. The venting layer O2 passage rate is greater than the structural layer O2 passage rate, and the structural layer surface area is less than the venting layer surface area. Alternatively, the structural layer may include a plurality of apertures and a patch associated with each aperture, instead of a venting layer. Each patch has a patch O2 passage rate and the total O2 passage rate of the container includes the sum of each patch O2 passage rate. The total O2 passage rate is at least about 0.2 L/(m2*24 hours).

  • Patent number: 5971645
Abstract: A hand-held container for predissolving a predetermined amount of detergent with a predetermined amount of solvent comprises a housing, a resilient side wall, and a dispensing passage. The dispensing passage has a flow restriction portion and an applicator at the distal end. The container is intended for use with fluids with a viscosity of less than about 500 cP. When so used, and aligned to a dispensing orientation, fluid flows out of the dispensing passage at a rate from about 0 ml/min to about 300 ml/min, unless manual pressure is exerted on the resilient side wall.

  • Patent number: 5711476
Abstract: Disclosed is a carton for containing granular materials comprising a box having front, back and side panels to form an opening and a lid attached to an upper portion of the back panel for closing the opening. The lid comprises (a) a top panel for covering the opening upon closure of the lid, (b) font and side flaps extending fore the respective edges of the top panel for coveting the respective upper portions of the font and side panels upon closure of the lid, (c) an adhesion flap adhering to the back panel, and (d) a back flap attached to the top panel and the adhesion flap. A cutting line which is extending toward the top panel is formed at least in the back flap so that the lid can be opened completely (about 270 degrees from its closed position) without any damage to the carton structure.

  • Patent number: 5518172
Abstract: A cardboard carton for granules includes a lid having a locking recess. The carton also includes a downwardly folded tab which cooperates with the locking recess on the lid to retain the lid closed. The locking tongue is formed by forming a slit in a face plate of a folded cardboard portion of the front panel. The locking tongue is in the position along the face plate by a sealing member before the first use by users. Therefore, the leakage of the granules from the slit portion of the front panel can be prevented. In addition, users will not erroneously recognize the locking tongue as a tab to be removed before use.

  • Patent number: 5261595
Abstract: A refill container for housing granular products that is adapted to be inserted into a box-type outer package. The refill container is designed so that it is easily collapsible after its use. The container comprises an enclosure formed from opposing top and bottom walls, opposing side walls and opposing front and back walls. The container is sealed so as to prevent the flow of granular products through the enclosure prior to its opening. Lastly the container of the present invention includes a tear strip extending along the front, back and side walls. The tear strip is such that it will extend above the outer box-type package when the refill container is inserted therein.
