  • Patent number: 6366288
Abstract: In an image display device, a ROM contains a plurality of image data indicative of the actions of an animal character. A RAM includes a plurality of action level registers each stores for each of which image data the state of inputs given to select and display the image data. The user gives a command corresponding to a respective image of an animal character to select and display the action of the animal character optionally. When a random number corresponding to the command is generated, image data which does not correspond to the input command can be displayed. If the generated random number has a particular value, the value of an action level register for the image data corresponding to the command is updated. Such operation is iterated and thus the value of the action level register is updated.

A RAM includes a plurality of action level registers each of which stores for each image data the state of inputs given to select and display the image data. The user gives a command corresponding to a respective image of an animal character to select and display the action of the animal character optionally. When a random-number corresponding to the command is generated, image data which does not correspond to the input command can be displayed. If the generated random number has a particular value, the value of an action level register for the image data corresponding to the command is updated. Such operation is iterated and thus the value of the action level register is updated.

  • Patent number: 5542037
Abstract: An image displaying apparatus, in which a plurality of image data of parts are stored in a ROM (read only memory) which parts are representative of elements of a portrait such as eyes, eyebrows, a nose, hair, an outline of a face and so on, image data of the parts selected by operation of a key input unit are read out from the ROM and are combined on a display unit of a dot matrix type, whereby a desired portrait is displayed thereon. A display position on the display unit where each of the image data combined into the above desired portrait is to be displayed is previously determined. The display position can be changed by operation of up/down keys or left/right keys provided in the key input unit. Using these keys, a wide variety of portraits which are rich in expression may be composed.

  • Patent number: 4649400
Abstract: In a thermal printer control device, gate circuits are provided between elements of a thermal head and a print controller. After the print controller has supplied a print start signal to the thermal head, a print signal control circuit detects if a print stop signal has been supplied from the controller within a predetermined time and, if not, closes the gate circuits to prevent supply of the print signals to the thermal head elements.
