  • Patent number: 5622802
Abstract: A toner for electrostatic latent image developing comprises a binder resin and a coloring agent. The binder resin is preferably a polyester resin having specified properties. The coloring agent is preferably a C. I. Pigment Blue 15-3, C. I. Pigment Red 122 or C. I. Pigment Yellow 17. The toner is prepared by emulsion dispersion of a colored resin solution, including the binder resin and the coloring agent in a non-water soluble organic solvent, in an aqueous dispersion. Subsequently, the non-water soluble organic solvent and the aqueous dispersion are removed to produce fine toner particles, which are washed, dried and sorted to produce the toner.

  • Patent number: 5604067
Abstract: A resin-formed toner for developing electrostatic latent images manufactured by a wet process, wherein 10 parts by weight of said toner is added to 100 parts by weight of deionized water to produce a solution having electrical conductance of 1.about.100 .mu.S/sec. And a resin-formed toner for developing electrostatic latent images which is manufactured by wet process using a water-insoluble inorganic salt comprising calcium as a dispersion stabilizing agent, wherein the amount of calcium present in the toner is 0.2.about.10 ppm.

  • Patent number: 5547794
Abstract: A toner for electrostatic latent image developing containing at least a binder resin, a coloring agent and a charge controller that are dissolved or dispersed in a non-water soluble organic solvent to form an emulsion dispersion of a colored resin solution in aqueous dispersion. The toner of the present invention is produced by forming the emulsion dispersion of a colored resin solution in aqueous dispersion followed by removal of the non-water soluble organic solvent and water to obtain a toner having a residual organic solvent content of about 5 to about 100 ppm and a residual moisture content of about 0.05 to about 1.0 percent-by-weight of total toner weight.

  • Patent number: 4642279
Abstract: The present invention relates to a photosensitive member which includes a photoconductive layer of amorphous silicon and an insulating layer formed thereover and including amorphous silicon, carbon and an element in Group III A of the Periodic Table. Carbon is included in an amount of about 35 to 65 atomic % at the outer most surface of the insulating layer and a minimum amount at the interface with the photoconductive layer. The Group III A element is included to control a majority carrier of the insulating layer to be a polarity opposite to the polarity of charging.
