  • Patent number: 5645502
Abstract: The power transmission chain of the present invention is formed of two parallel chains that are phased or offset by approximately one-half pitch. The chains are connected by struts that extend across the entire width of both chains. The power transmission chain belt of this invention provides for a restricting device in the interchain gap of the load block. Offset occurring during the speed change of a continuously variable transmission can be absorbed by the above mentioned gap. In one embodiment, the restricting device is in the form of a stop ring provided near the middle of the gap between the two side-by-side chains.

  • Patent number: 5439423
Abstract: A power transmission chain belt wherein each of two mutually offset parallel chains includes connected sets of parallel links, and spaced-apart parallel load block members engage the inner side of the parallel chains. Each set of parallel links includes link plates each having a pair of gripping protrusions formed so as to extend from an inner-side end face facing the load block members. The protrusions engage a pair of engaging grooves formed on each load block member, to thereby hold the link plates. The grooves are open on the opposite end faces of the load block member, and are provided with stopper means for inhibiting relative movements of the link plates and the load block member.

  • Patent number: 5409424
Abstract: A power transmission chain belt wherein sets of parallel links each including at least inner link plates are connected by pivot members to form each of at least two chains arranged in side-by-side parallel relationship with each other with a relative longitudinal offset distance, each pivot member having a first pin and a second pin which rolls on the first pin and whose rotation is prevented. The first and second pins extend through at least the inner link plates, and one of the first and second pins extends, preferably, the second pin, also through an outer link plate of each chain. The chain belt incorporates a mechanism which is associated with the end portion of the above-indicated one of the first and second pins, for inhibiting longitudinal relative movement of the chains.

  • Patent number: 5393272
Abstract: A power transmission chain belt wherein each of two mutually offset parallel chains includes connected sets of parallel links, and each chain is associated at its inner side with spaced-apart parallel load block members. Each set of parallel links includes link plates each having gripping protrusions on its inner-side end face which includes a concave part which is located between the protrusions and which engages an outer-side end face of the load block member. The inner-side end face of each link plate has surface regions which are spaced or offset from the concave part, in a direction from the inner side toward the outer side of the chain belt.
