  • Patent number: 5876277
Abstract: A deodorizing filter for adsorbing malodorous particles in air is disposed at a downstream air side of a circumferential wall of an inside/outside air switching rotary door which opens and closes inside and outside air intake ports. A gap having a predetermined distance is provided between the deodorizing filter and the circumferential wall of the rotary door. The deodorizing filter is rotated integrally with the rotary door. When the rotary door is rotated to open both the outside and inside air intake ports at their intermediately opened positions, the inside air flowing from the inside air intake port directly flows into an outlet side of an inside/outside air switching box, and the outside air introduced from the outside air intake port passes through the gap and the deodorizing filter and flows into the outlet side of the inside/outside air switching box.

  • Patent number: 5857905
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus includes an air conditioning case having therein first and second air passages partitioned from each other. First and second fans are respectively disposed in the first and second air passages, and an outer diameter of the first fan is smaller than that of the second fan. Therefore, an air volume relative to a total pressure in the first fan is greatly changed as compared with the second fan. Thus, when an operation mode is switched from a foot air mode to a foot/defroster air mode or from the foot/defroster air mode to the foot air mode, an opening degree of a defroster door is changed slightly.

  • Patent number: 5755107
Abstract: An automotive air conditioner comprises an offset blower for blowing an air, an evaporator is centrally disposed within a dashboard and receives the air from below, and a heater approximately horizontally disposed above the evaporator. The evaporator inclines downward along the direction of the air flow. A plurality of condensed water guide plates are provided under the evaporator so as to allow a condensed water smoothly flow on the surface of each guide plate and is discharged from the evaporator through a condensed water drain pipe.

  • Patent number: 5699960
Abstract: An air conditioner for a vehicle which prevents backflow of outside air into a vehicle interior. An inside/outside air switching damper of the air conditioner for a vehicle is connected to a servo motor by a link. Due to driving of the servo motor, the inside/outside air switching damper swings between an inside air position, at which the inside/outside air switching damper closes an inside air passage side opening, and an outside air position, at which the inside/outside air switching damper closes an inside air suction opening. The servo motor is connected to an amplifier for control. An inside/outside air mode switch, a blowout opening mode switch, a vehicle speed sensor, and a blower voltage detecting circuit are connected to the amplifier for control.

  • Patent number: 5675445
Abstract: A lens apparatus, such as a lens barrel for a camera, allows different optical systems to be easily removed and installed. The lens apparatus has first and second optical systems with an optical axis of the lens apparatus extending thorough the first and second optical systems. First and second lens compartments respectively retain the first and second optical systems. First and second lens frames respectively correspond to, and respectively retain, the first and second lens compartments. The first and second lens compartments are independent structures from the first and second lens frames to allow the first and second lens compartments to be removed from, and inserted into, the respectively corresponding first and second lens frames. The present invention also relates to a method of assembling the lens apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5573383
Abstract: A plurality of mating tabs are provided on an opening for motor installation use disposed in an end plate of a casing. Along with this, a plurality of mating tabs and support tabs are provided on an outer peripheral end of a flange portion, and the flange portion is rotationally retained on the end plate through combination of these members. A protruding wall portion is disposed on a perimeter of an open portion for motor cooling-air use, and a guide rib of tapered configuration is provided adjacently to this wall portion. At the time of the foregoing rotational retaining, an end portion of a cooling-air passage of the flange portion is guided over this guide rib and mated with the protruding wall portion.

  • Patent number: 5557359
Abstract: A camera including a shutter that regulates the exposure time of the recording medium, a shutter measuring device that measures the time during which the shutter exposes the recording medium, a discerning device that discerns whether or not the recording medium is an infrared sensitive medium, and a suppressing device that suppresses the action of the shutter measuring device when the discerning device discerns that the medium is the infrared sensitive medium. This structure prevents the accidental sensitization of infrared film in the camera. In an alternative arrangement, a controller controls the operation of the shutter measuring device in accordance with either the type of recording medium or a voltage amount supplied to the shutter measuring device.

  • Patent number: 5511939
Abstract: A multi-blade fan having a fan assembly including a bottom plate and a plurality of circumferentially spaced blades and a casing for the fan assembly therein having an outlet duct extending therefrom for discharge of the air flows. The fan assembly includes an annular shroud connected to the axial ends of the blades remote from the bottom plate. The casing includes a bottom wall for rotatably connecting the fan assembly, a top wall for defining an air inlet for axially introducing the air into the casing, and a tubular wall connecting the bottom and top walls. The top wall of the casing adjacent to the inlet opening forms an annular projection having a bell cross sectional shape opened inwardly so that an axial end of the shroud extends thereto. The bell cross section portion radially extends to a portion that is inclined downwardly in the outward direction, which faces the shroud so that a small gap extending radially is created.

  • Patent number: 5457514
Abstract: A camera having a mechanism to determine the precise times at which a shutter or shutter blinds open or close an aperture. The camera measures the actual time in which shutter blinds pass over the aperture by utilizing a projection unit, positioned on one side of the shutter, to project a signal towards the aperture. A signal receiving unit is placed on the other side of the shutter and receives the signal. The output of the signal receiving unit changes depending on whether the signal projected by the projection unit is blocked by the shutter (when the shutter is closed) or whether the projected signal passes through the aperture. The projection unit and the receiving unit can also be placed on the same side of the shutter, with a reflecting unit placed on the other side of the shutter, with the shutter blinds having a different reflectivity than the reflecting unit. When the shutter blinds are closed, the projected signal is reflected off the shutter blinds and received by the receiving unit.
