  • Patent number: 5117136
Abstract: Linear motor supporting apparatus are mounted upon the front and rear portions of each bogie of a vehicle so as to maintain the predetermined distance defined between an on-board coil and a ground stator, the on-board coil and the ground stator together constituting the linear-induction motor. The linear motor supporting apparatus incorporates a servo device which regulates the vertical position of the on-board coil in accordance with the contour of the ground stator so as to maintain the on-board-coil-to-ground-stator distance at the predetermined value. The servo device consists of a valve body, a valve box, and a servo device body. The valve body is secured to a sensor member, which runs upon and is maintained in contact with the ground stator. The valve box is secured to the on-board coil. The servo device body is mounted through means of a spring to the bogie. The ground stator may have some laying errors and there may be variations in its height.

  • Patent number: 4766817
Abstract: A railway system including a track and a train adapted to run on the track. A power feed line comprising a series of feed sections is provided to extend along the track. A plurality of stations are provided along the track and the station has a power supply unit adapted to be selectively connected with one of the feed sections to supply a controlled three-phase AC power to the feed section to thereby operate the train on that feed section in a desired mode. The train has a pair of collecting shoes which are connected with the tracting motor in parallel with each other and arranged with a space in a longitudinal direction of the train. In the station, there is an insulated junction between the two adjacent feed sections which is located so that it is between the two collecting shoes on the train which is stopped in the station at a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4484526
Abstract: A switching structure for a guideway track including one or more running ways adapted for supporting running wheels of a guideway vehicle and one or more guide rails adapted for guiding guide wheels of the vehicle. The switching structure includes a first and second substantially vertically movable guide rails, a crank mechanism for alternately raising and lowering the first and second movable guide rails for switching running path of the vehicle and a driving device for driving the crank mechanism. The crank mechanism has a first and second crankarms having a phase difference smaller than 180.degree.

  • Patent number: 4274338
Abstract: A guided vehicle having a body with rubber-tired steerable running wheels mounted on axles. A suspension system for the axles includes transversely extending upper and lower link arms which are parallel with each other and have equal arm lengths. Each of the links or link arms has one end connected with the wheel axle through a joint mechanism for a steering movement and a rotative movement about a longitudinal axis and its other end connected at two longitudinally spaced portions with the vehicle body for rotative movement about a second longitudinal axis. Air springs are disposed between one of the links and the vehicle body for normally maintaining the links substantially horizontally to thereby maintain the associated wheel always vertical.

  • Patent number: 4265180
Abstract: A guided vehicle including at each end portion of the body a pair of steerable running wheels adapted to run on track surfaces and a pair of guide wheels adapted to run along guide rails provided at the opposite sides of the track surfaces. A steering linkage is provided for connecting the running and guide wheels so that the former is steered in response to a transverse movement of the latter. A friction type restraining device is provided in the linkage so that the steering movement is not produced by a small amount of surface roughness in the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 4234065
Abstract: Three phase power feeding device for a track guided vehicle including three power feeding lines provided along one side of the track, the center one of the feed lines being located closer to the track than the other two of the lines. The vehicle is provided with a collector device comprised of three collector shoes adapted to be engaged respectively with the power feed lines. The collector shoes are associated with insulative shoes which are longer than the collector shoes so that the insulative shoes are maintained in contact with the respective ones of the power feed lines even when the collector shoes are detached from the feed lines due to rolling movement of the vehicle.
