Abstract: In a conventional cash or credit card, since the magnetization angle between the magnetic head and the recording medium formed on the card is fixed, data recorded on the card can easily be discriminated or copied through a card reader for allowing dishonest use of the card. To overcome these problems, data are written or read on or from the card on the basis of a head motion pattern code recorded at the head area of the recording medium. In operation, the read/write head is moved relative to a moving card in accordance with a head motion signal corresponding to a recorded head motion pattern code so that the magnetization angle between the head and the recording medium is intermittently varied in both data recording and reproducing operations.

Abstract: A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material containing a specific naphthol cyan dye forming coupler is disclosed. Dye images formed by this coupler are excellent in fastness to heat and light and in sharpness, and are free from adverse influences of a bleaching solution having weak oxidative activity or a fatigued bleaching solution.

Abstract: A color photographic silver halide light-sensitive material containing a colorless photographic cyan color-forming coupler having, in a position for coupling with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, a coupling-off group represented by the following general formula (I):--O--R--SO--R.sub.1 (I)wherein R represents a substituted straight or branched chain alkylene group or a substituted straight or branched chain alkenylene group; R.sub.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted straight or branched chain alkyl group, a straight or branched chain alkenyl group, a straight or branched chain aralkyl group, a straight or branched chain aralkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, and R and R.sub.1 may be bonded to each other directly or through a connecting group to form a ring. The 2-equivalent photographic cyan couplers have high coupling speed and excellent dispersibility.

Abstract: A process for forming a color filter, which comprises patternwise exposing a black-and-white silver halide emulsion layer of a photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one black-and-white silver halide emulsion layer, developing the photographic material with a developing solution containing a color dye developer to form a pattern containing a color dye for a pattern containing at least one dye, and removing remaining silver and/or silver halide. The patternwise exposure and color coupler containing development steps can be repeated using different color couplers to produce patterns with additional color dyes.

Abstract: Color photographic light sensitive materials are disclosed, comprising a cyan dye forming coupler represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A represents a cyan coupler residue, but the --NHCO group does not bond to A in the active position of A, R.sup.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, and the various positions of the phenyl group of the formula (I) may be substituted with from 1 to 3 substituents selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group.

Abstract: A color photographic light-sensitive material is described containing a cyan dye forming coupler represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each represents hydrogen, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an alkylcarbonyl group, an arylcarbonyl group, an alkylcarbamoyl group, an arylcarbamoyl group wherein said groups may be substituted or unsubstituted, or a nitryl group; and X represents hydrogen or a coupling-off group; also a double bond may be formed between the carbon atom at the 3-position and the carbon atoms at the 4-position.The color photographic light-sensitive material provides color images having excellent fastness to light and heat.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described containing a colorless photographic cyan color-forming coupler having, in a position for coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, a coupling-off group represented by the formula (I)--O--(R.sub.1 S).sub.x (R.sub.2 S).sub.y R.sub.3 (I)wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an alkylene group; R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group; x represents a positive integer; and y represents 0 or a positive integer.The photographic cyan color-forming coupler exhibits excellent dispersibility and color-forming properties.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a colorless photographic cyan color forming coupler having, in a position for coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, a coupling-off group represented by the formula (I):--O--R--S--R.sub.1 (I)wherein R represents a substituted alkylene group or an unsubstituted or substituted alkenylene group, and said alkylene group or alkenylene group may be straight or branched chain; and R.sub.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group, an aralkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a heterocyclic group and said alkyl group, alkenyl group, aralkyl group and aralkenyl group may be straight or branched chain; and said heterocyclic group being connected with a thio group at the position of a carbon atom of the heterocyclic group.

Abstract: A color photographic silver halide light-sensitive material is described containing a colorless photographic cyan color-forming coupler having, in a position for coupling with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, as a coupling-off group, at least one alkoxy group substituted with a sulfinyl group represented by the formula (I)-O-R-SO-R.sub.1 (I)wherein R represents a saturated or unsaturated, divalent aliphatic group which may be straight or branched chain and may be substituted; and R.sub.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted straight or branched chain alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group, an aralkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; and said heterocyclic group being connected with a sulfinyl group on the position of a carbon atom of the heterocyclic group.

Abstract: A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said photographic light-sensitive material containing at least one cyan color-forming coupler represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein l represents 0, 1 or 2; X represents a group capable of being released upon the coupling reaction and having at least 6 carbon atoms; Y represents RCONH--, RNHCO-- or RNHCONH-- wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, an ethyl group or a methyl group substituted with one or more halogen atoms; n represents 1 or 2 and Y may be the same or different when n is 2; and the phenyl group can be substituted with a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. The dyes formed from the cyan color-forming couplers have unusually good spectral absorption properties and exceptional fastness to light and heat.

Abstract: A multilayer color photographic material having at least one red sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan coupler of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X represents a hydrogen atom or a chlorine atom and n is a positive integer of 8 to 20, is processed by a color developer containing a developing agent of the formula (II): ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a methoxy group or an ethoxy group; R.sub.5 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxyalkyl group wherein the number of carbon atoms in said alkyl moiety is 1 to 4, or a group of the formula --(CH.sub.2).sub.m R.sub.6 ; R.sub.6 represents a hydroxy group, a methylsulfonamido group, or an ethylsulfonamido group; and m represents a positive integer of 1 to 4.

Abstract: A photographic silver halide light-sensitive emulsion containing a cyan color forming colorless coupler having at the coupling position at which the coupler reacts with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent at least one alkoxy group having a sulfonyl group as a substituent and represented by the following general formula (I):--O--R--SO.sub.2 --R.sub.1 (I)wherein R represents a saturated or unsaturated divalent aliphatic group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms which may be straight or branched chain and may be substituted (except those having an aryl group as a substituent on the carbon atom adjacent the oxygen atom bonded to the coupling position); and R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; and wherein R and R.sub.1 can combine directly or through a bonding group to form a ring and an image-forming process.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material and a process for preparing the same are disclosed wherein an oil-soluble photographic additive and, in particular, a cyan coupler is dissolved in an epoxy compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents an alkyl group or substituted alkyl group containing 1 to 40 carbon atoms, an alkoxycarbonyl group or substituted alkoxycarbonyl group containing 1 to 40 carbon atoms, or a hydrogen atom, provided that R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 do not represent hydrogen atoms at the same time and that the sum of the number of carbon atoms of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is 8 to 60, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be the same or different and may combine to form a ring; or in an epoxy compound formed by linking two compounds of said formula (I) which may be the same or different through any of R.sub.1 to R.sub.4 or the ring formed by R.sub.1 to R.sub.4.

Abstract: A two equivalent yellow, magenta or cyan coupler having various superior properties and suitable for use in color photographic systems and having a releasable group represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group, an aralkenyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; and Y represents the non-metallic atoms necessary to form a 5- to 7-membered ring together with the N atom forming a part thereof, a photographic light-sensitive material containing the two equivalent coupler and a method of forming color photographic images which comprises developing an imagewise exposed silver halide photographic emulsion with an aromatic primary amine developing agent in the presence of the two equivalent coupler.

Abstract: A multilayer color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion containing a yellow coupler, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a magenta coupler, and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan coupler, with the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or a gelatin interlayer adjacent the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a non-diffusible colored compound which, on coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a primary aromatic amino developing agent at development, can release a diffusible dye capable of being removed from the photographic layer.

Abstract: A photographic coupler represented by the following formula (I)[a] -- nhcor (i)wherein A represents a cyan color forming coupler residue having a naphthol nucleus or a phenol nucleus; the RCONH-group is a substituted in the coupling position of [A], and R represents (1) an aliphatic hydrocarbon or alicyclic hydrocarbon group which has at least one electron attractive substituent in the .alpha.-position to the carbonyl group in the RCONH- group, or (2) an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, an acyl group or an amino group which may be substituted with one or more electron attractive substituents, and R as defined by (1) or (2) above is a residue of a carboxylic acid of the formula RCOOH having a pKa of about 1.

Abstract: A two-equivalent color photographic coupler having advantageous properties and capable of forming a magenta color image upon coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, in which the carbon atom at the coupling position of the coupler is bonded to the nitrogen atom at the 1- or 4-position of a 1,2,4-triazole ring; a color photographic light-sensitive material containing the above-mentioned color photographic coupler and a method of forming a color image comprising developing an image-wise exposed photographic light-sensitive material in the presence of the above-described color photographic coupler are also described.
