  • Patent number: 5216307
Abstract: An electric motor has a motor shaft which is rotatably supported at its base end by a motor yoke and which carries a core member. The motor includes a gear such as a worm gear press-fitted to a free end portion of the motor shaft, a front frame which is secured to a front opening of the motor yoke and which has a substantially cylindrical portion having a shaft hole through which the motor shaft extends and a bearing mounted on the motor shaft at a position between the gear and the core member, the bearing having limited axial movement along the motor shaft.

  • Patent number: 5214440
Abstract: A motor is controlled so that it is not driven to further extend an antenna, even when a worm wheel receives a load from a drive cord and rotates to retract the antenna when the antenna is extended to its maximum length. The rotatable worm wheel for extending or contracting the drive cord is connected to a cam forming a motor operation controlling mechanism in which electricity is intermittently passed to the motor on the basis of the amount of rotation of the worm wheel. The cam can rotate through an angle of play .THETA. provided in the worm wheel to prevent the motor from being driven and the antenna from being extended further.

  • Patent number: 5146799
Abstract: As the first aspect of the invention, an actuator in a power antenna device includes a worm provided on a shaft of the motor; a first gear unit integrally including a worm wheel and a small intermediate gear; a second gear unit integrally including a large internal gear and a part of a clutch device; reduction gears including first reducing gears (a pair of the worm gear and the worm wheel) and second reducing gears (a pair of the small intermediate gear and the large internal gear); and a support board made of a hard material such as metal and integrally fixed to a casing for the actuator, and which rotatably supports the first and second gear units on the side where the small intermediate gear and the large internal gear engage.

  • Patent number: 4870309
Abstract: The wiring device in a direct current machine, includes a pigtail of a brush and a lead wire bound by a button contactor. The button contactor is formed into a generally T shape and is located at the forward end portion of the lead wire. The button contactor is received and held in a holding recess formed on a base made of resin. The holding recess is provided with an insertion recess defined by a pair of spaced and parallel side walls, for receiving the binding portion of the button contactor engageable recesses are respectively provided at corresponding opposite end portions of both side walls, and open toward each other and toward the brush. The engageable recesses receive opposite end portions of a head of the button contactor. A regulating portion is formed at an extension of the insertion recess opposite to an end face of the head of the button contactor.

  • Patent number: 4855631
Abstract: The brush holding device includes a brush box formed into a tubular shape, having opposite open ends, and being slidably provided in a hollow portion thereof with a brush. A cap is capped onto one end portion of the brush box to block the end portion, and for receiving a reaction force of a brush spring to bring the brush into sliding contact with a commutator. A projecting portion is provided on the cap to engage a portion of the brush box, so that side walls of the brush box can be prevented from deflecting inwardly. A frame portion of the cap may be coupled onto the outer periphery of the rear end portion of the brush box.

  • Patent number: 4806025
Abstract: Automatic self-aligning ball metals rotatably mounted at both end parts of a rotor shaft in an electric motor are supported by holding devices. The holding device is designed in the form of a disc having a flange portion around the outer periphery thereof. It is formed with a plurality of pawls having different intensities of resilient force which extend in the radial direction from an area located in the proximity of the flange portion. The pawls having a higher intensity of resilient force and the pawls having a lower intensity of resilient force are alternately arranged in the peripheral direction of the holding device and the inner part of each of the pawls is bent at a certain inclination angle. The pawls having a lower intensity of resilient force are adapted to come in contact with the metal ball earlier than the pawls having a higher intensity of resilient force. Each of the pawls having a higher intensity of resilient force has a width wider than the pawls having a lower intensity of resilient force.
