  • Publication number: 20070195391
Abstract: A method of fabricating a hologram having a pattern made up of pixels in which a photosensitive material for forming a hologram is stacked on either a reflection-type hologram or a transmission type hologram. According to one aspect of the invention, the photosensitive material is stacked on a reflection-type relief hologram and reconstructing illumination light of a given wavelength is struck on the reflection-type relief hologram through the photosensitive material, so that interference fringes produced by interference of the light diffracted from the reflection type relief hologram and the incident light are recorded in the photosensitive material.

  • Patent number: 6667819
Abstract: A reflection type color display device and a reflection type of direct-view color display device are provided. The reflection type color display device includes a spatial light modulator having a collection of pixels and a controllable transmittance per pixel, with a reflection type hologram color filter located on the back side of the modulator. The reflection type of direct-view color display device includes a hologram color filter which has an array of light-collecting holograms. Each of the light-collecting holograms has its own hologram color filter, reflection type hologram, and transmission type spatial light modulator located between the hologram color filter and the reflection type hologram.

  • Publication number: 20010053004
Abstract: The invention provides a diffusing plate with the angle of diffusion controllable within a desired range by use of a hologram, which is capable of presenting bright displays so that it is applicable to, for instance, a backlighting diffusing plate for liquid crystal display device. A diffusing plate 2 having an angle of diffusion &thgr; is brought into close contact with a hologram photosensitive material 1. Then, parallel light 3 is obliquely at an angle of incidence &agr; on the photosensitive material 1 while parallel light 4 is vertically incident on the diffusing plate 2. Thereupon, parallel light 4 is converted into diffused light 5 having an angle of diffraction &thgr; upon passing through the diffusing plate 2. Diffused light 5 interferes with obliquely incident parallel light 3 from the opposite direction in photosensitive material 1 to produce interference fringes, thereby forming a reflection type hologram.

  • Patent number: 6033810
Abstract: A holographic optical element or other similar molded article using glass as a substrate is improved in the adhesion between the glass substrate and a resin layer formed thereon so that neither peeling nor change of properties will occur. A holographic optical element (4) is adapted to generate interference fringes of the same pitch as that of tracks formed on a magnetic recording disk or repeated patterns formed on an encoder by interference between two light beams emerging from two different holographic lens regions. The holographic optical element (4) includes a glass substrate (3), a radiation-cured resin layer (2) having a hologram relief pattern on the surface thereof, and a silane coupling agent layer (5) provided between the glass substrate (3) and the radiation-cured resin layer (2).

  • Patent number: 5504593
Abstract: A hologram recording method wherein a transparent member for introducing a light beam into a recording material is designed so that the transparent member and the recording film can be uniformly brought into close contact with each other through an index matching liquid without damaging the recording film, and it is possible to stably carry out uniform and continuous exposure without failure of recording nor occurrence of unnecessary interference fringes. Also disclosed is a recorded hologram. A transparent member (3) is disposed at one surface of a recording film (2). A surface (5) of the transparent member (3) that is brought into close contact with the recording film (2) is convexly curved only in the direction of feed of the recording film (2). In addition, the space between the contact surface (5) and the recording film (2) is filled with an index matching liquid (4) so that the recording film (2) is brought into close contact with the transparent member (3) through the index matching liquid (4).
