  • Publication number: 20030075201
Abstract: An applicator suitable for applying various powders and liquids in the fields of cosmetics, writing, painting, and medical treatment etc, which is particularly preferred as a make-up instrument such as a chip or a brush for applying eye shadow, and to a method of producing the applicator. The applicator has one or two coating parts obtained by grinding the peripheral part of either or both ends of an applicator main body which is made by bonding a fiber bundle with a synthetic resin solution, and a holding part being the unground middle part of the applicator main body, wherein the applicator main body impregnated with the resin solution is dried by hot air and the solvent in the resin solution is removed, thereby the resin is unevenly distributed and exists more in the peripheral part, and the peripheral part becomes harder than the central part.

  • Patent number: 6337380
Abstract: Provided are: a polymer comprising a repeating unit represented by formula (I): wherein K represents an alkylene group; M represents a monovalent cation group; a dispersant including the polmer; and a silver halide photographic photosensitive material containing water-insoluble photographic solid grains dispersed in use of the dispersant. The dispersant of the invention prevents the surface tension from lowering where the solid fine grains are dispersed, thereby improving dispersing property and dispersion stability. The silver halide photographic photosensitive material according to the invention has good color reproductivity and improves storability before use and latent image storability at the same time.

  • Patent number: 5731137
Abstract: There is disclosed an emulsified dispersion, in which at least one compound of the formula (1) dissolved in an organic solvent comprising at least one high-boiling organic solvent satisfying the condition X.gtoreq.85 in formula (A) is emulsified in a water medium; with the proviso that phthalates and compounds having an epoxy group and having the viscosity less than 100 mPas are excluded from said high-boiling organic solvents: formula (1) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6, which are the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may bond together to form a 6-membered ring, formula (A)X=24.7.times.Log.sub.10 Y-11.7.times.Z+43.7wherein Y and Z stand for, respectively, the viscosity in mPas at 25.degree. C. and the specific water content in % by weight of the high-boiling organic solvent. There is also disclosed a silver halide color light-sensitive material containing the emulsified dispersion.
