  • Patent number: 6866380
Abstract: An ink set includes inks each containing a colorant and an aqueous medium, wherein in a fading test under conditions that cause fading corresponding to pseudo-indoor sunlight fading through a window for 3 years or more, the difference between respective images' ?E, the images being produced with the respective inks, is 10 or less in a CIELAB color space display system, and each of the images has a residual ratio of reflection density of 70% or more. By using the ink set including the color inks with which images having substantially the same fading ?E after long-term storage are produced, the color balance of a recorded image can be maintained after long-term storage.

  • Patent number: 6530656
Abstract: A set of color ink-jet recording inks for recording a color image on a recording medium by using at least a black ink and a color ink, wherein the black ink has a cationic self-dispersible carbon black and the color ink has an anionic dye and an anionic substance. This ink set can achieve a high printing density and good printing grade without bleeding between black image and color image. It has a high reliability as an ink-jet ink.

  • Patent number: 6454403
Abstract: An ink set for recording a color image with inks of two or more colors including at least one black ink and one color ink on a recording medium is provided. The ink set includes a black ink containing a self-dispersible carbon black having at least one cationic group bonded directly or through another atomic group to the surface thereof, and a color ink containing an anionic substance and having a buffering capability against a pH change. The ink set satisfies the requirements for print quality, image durability, and so forth and does not cause bleeding between a black ink-printed area and a color ink-printed area.
