  • Patent number: 9728590
Abstract: An organic EL device including: a substrate; a bank layer having therewithin an opening having an elongated shape in plan view; and a functional layer including an organic material, disposed within the opening, and having an elongated shape in plan view. The bank layer includes first banks opposing each other with the functional layer therebetween in an transverse direction of the functional layer and extending along a longitudinal direction of the functional layer and second banks opposing each other with the functional layer therebetween in the longitudinal direction of the functional layer and extending along the transverse direction of the functional layer. An angle ?2 between an inclined surface of a second bank and an upper surface of the substrate is greater than an angle ?1 between an inclined surface of a first bank and the upper surface of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9722006
Abstract: An organic light-emitting device includes at least an underlayer, a partition wall, and an organic film. The underlayer is disposed above a substrate. The partition wall covers a first part and surrounds a second part of the surface of the underlayer. The organic film includes organic material, is disposed in a recess formed by the partition wall surrounding the second part, and is in contact with the surface of the underlayer and a surface of the partition wall. The surface of the underlayer has a protruding portion that protrudes in an upward direction. The protruding portion is composed of a top surface and an inclined surface surrounding the top surface. The first part includes least the top surface and a portion of the inclined surface, and an inner edge of the partition wall is in contact with the inclined surface or a level portion of the surface of the underlayer.

  • Patent number: 9444077
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a light-emitting element. The method includes forming an underlayer that includes a reflective electrode, forming a bank that has liquid repellency, irradiating the bank with characteristic energy rays to decrease liquid repellency of the bank, and forming a functional layer. The bank is formed on the underlayer and is provided with an opening and an inclined portion surrounding the opening. The opening has a shape that has a long axis and a short axis and is positioned above the reflective electrode. In plan view, end sections of the inclined portion in a direction of the long axis overlap the upper surface of the reflective electrode, while central sections of the inclined portion in the direction of the long axis do not overlap the upper surface of the reflective electrode.

  • Publication number: 20140363911
Abstract: A manufacturing method of an organic EL display panel includes: preparing G, R, and B inks that each include a solvent and respectively include G, R, and B organic light-emitting materials differing from each other in terms of light-emitting wavelength; applying the G ink to G subpixel regions on a substrate; applying the R ink to R subpixel regions; and applying the B ink to B subpixel regions. The R and B subpixel regions are each adjacent to a corresponding one of the G subpixel regions on both sides thereof. The G ink has a lower viscosity than the R and B inks. After application of the R and B inks is started, application of the G ink is started.
