  • Publication number: 20230204350
Abstract: A pattern for producing a moire image with a sense of movement and technique for creating such patterns. A moire display includes: a first pattern; and a second pattern disposed offset from the first pattern by a predetermined distance, the second pattern having a phase which continuously changes relative to the first pattern in at least one region. For example, a moire image with a sense of movement can be produced when the second pattern has a phase that changes according to a function in at least one section. Accordingly, a moire image with a sense of natural movement can be produced by inputting an input image and data such as a feature value of the input image.

  • Publication number: 20210327081
Abstract: A feature value such as a grayscale value is extracted from a design pattern on which a moiré image is based. Then, an aperture/non-aperture ratio of a moiré pattern is set according to the feature value, taking into account the specification of layers desired for a moiré image, setting of a basic pattern, and information regarding a moiré display. In addition to the aperture/non-aperture ratio, a phase shift amount and a pitch ratio can be further added to efficiently produce a moiré image having a beautiful appearance and excellent design. Moreover, such a method for generating a moiré pattern can be incorporated in a system to further improve production efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5533012
Abstract: A code-division multiple-access system has a downstream channel for transmission from a base station to a number of mobile stations, and an upstream channel for transmission from the mobile stations to the base station. On the downstream channel, each mobile station's spreading code is divided into two parts, which modulate data transmitted on in-phase and quadrature carriers, respectively, thereby enabling the length of the spreading code to be doubled without increasing the chip rate. On the upstream channel, as soon as a symbol is received from one mobile station, it is despread to estimate its value, then respread and canceled as interference with respect to the other mobile stations, these processes being iterated in a cyclic order of the mobile stations.

  • Patent number: 5526466
Abstract: At the time of training reference speech, the relationship between durations of each recognition unit is obtained by a duration training circuit and, at the time of recognizing speech, a beginning and an end of input speech is detected by a speech period sensing circuit, and then by using the relationship and the input speech period length, the durations of the recognition units in the input speech are estimated. Next, the reference speech and the input speech are matched by the matching means by using the calculated estimation values in such a manner that the recognition units have a duration close to that of the estimated values.

  • Patent number: 5444817
Abstract: A speech recognizing apparatus designed to predicate a duration of a recognition unit to be subsequently recognized with the use of both of the duration of the recognition unit already recognized within an input speech and the duration of each recognition units learned and then to perform a matching with the use of the predicated duration so that it can be established as a recognition candidate only when the difference in duration of the recognition units within the input speech is realistic.

  • Patent number: 5361324
Abstract: An analyzer performs spectral analysis of a characteristic parameter of an input speech signal per unit time so as to calculate, as a recognition parameter, orthogonal expansion of a spectrum of the analyzed characteristic parameter. A formant frequency of the input speech signal is detected, and a compensation value is calculated for the recognition parameter using the formant frequency. The recognition parameter is compensated in accordance with variations of the input speech signal caused by a noisy environment using the compensation value. The compensated recognition parameter is compared with reference parameters to output a recognition result.

  • Patent number: 5243686
Abstract: Features are extracted from a sampled input signal by performing first linear predictive analyses of different first orders p on the sample values and performing second linear predictive analyses of different second orders q on the residuals of the first analyses. An optimum first order p is selected using information entropy values representing the information content of the residuals of the second linear predictive analyses. One or more optimum second orders q are selected on the basis of changes in these information entropy values. The optimum first and second orders are output as features. Further linear predictive analyses can be carried out to obtain higher-order features. Useful features are obtained even for nonstationary input signals.

  • Patent number: 4916743
Abstract: A circuit for pattern matching on the frequency axis which inlcudes a first transformation section having an adaptive filter which is generally identical to an adaptive finite impulse response filter, but with its delay elements having been replaced by all-pass filters. The first transformation section performs frequency transformation on an input signal and is characterized by utilizing as tap coefficients for the adaptive filter, linear predictive analysis coefficients of the input speech signal. The first transformation section outputs linear predictive analysis coefficients of the frequency transformed input signal. A second transformation section is similar to the first transformation section but the tap coefficients of its adaptive filter are linear predictive analysis coefficients of a reference speech signal.
