  • Patent number: 10409507
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for implementing virtual dynamic library loading in embedded systems. In some aspects, a determination is made that a feature is not available in firmware executed from a first memory. Based on information associated with the feature, a portion of a second memory is allocated for code of the feature. In some cases, the portion of the second memory is allocated from a data buffer or part of a shared memory. The code of the feature is loaded to the allocated portion of the second memory and address aliasing logic is configured enable execution of the feature from the second memory. By allocating and executing firmware features from the second memory, a size of the firmware executed from the first memory can be reduced to conserve memory space and other firmware features may be dynamically loaded and executed from the second memory.

  • Patent number: 8082582
Abstract: An authorization system of a navigation device includes a first identification (ID) module and a second ID module. The first ID module is arranged to perform authorization for a first portion of the navigation device, and the second ID module is arranged to perform authorization for a second portion of the navigation device. The first and the second ID modules perform bidirectional authorization of the first and the second portions, and further determine behavior of the navigation device according to a result of the bidirectional authorization. An associated authorization method for controlling the navigation device is further provided.

  • Publication number: 20060251254
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for auto setting security mechanism of WLAN. The method comprises a normal step, which enables a station and an access point to execute the communicating negotiation between them, and a security setting step, which is used to execute the security mechanism setting automatically. Moreover, the security setting step comprises a defining step, which defines a plurality of parameters of the access point and a connecting step, which enables the station to connect to the access point, the access point to broadcast the UDP packages periodically, and sets the WLAN security settings. After the security setting step, the stations and access points execute the normal step again. Another aspect of the present invention is an apparatus for auto setting security mechanism of WLAN.
