Abstract: A system and a method for controlling a mobile terminal application using a gesture may identify a gesture corresponding to a contact signal input to a display screen. The gesture may then be verified in an event table as corresponding to a command event for one of many possible different applications, and command event may be performed by an application associated with the gesture. The application may be running in the background of the mobile terminal, and may not be displayed on the mobile terminal display screen when the command event is executed. The method may include executing a first application, executing a second application while executing the first application, identifying a gesture corresponding to a contact signal, verifying a command event corresponding to the gesture, and controlling the first application to perform the command event.
