  • Patent number: 8500327
Abstract: A safety thermometer in which power is automatically turned on when a sensor rod for measuring a temperature is taken out. The sensor rod is easily taken in the housing when a force is applied to the sensor rod. A sensor rod slider opposes a tip of the sensor rod and has a sensor contact point for connecting a sensor signal of the sensor rod to a circuit. The housing has a space for receiving the sensor rod, a partition wall and a second space to receive circuit devices. A temperature measurement unit is turned on by receiving a power from a power source unit when it contacts the sensor contact point of the sensor rod slider, the temperature measurement unit being connected to the temperature sensor of the sensor rod through the sensor rod slider to process and output a value detected by the temperature sensor.

  • Patent number: 8350571
Abstract: An electronic salt meter including a sensor rod, salt meter body and receiving components to measure a temperature and salinity. The electronic salt meter includes a first and sensor electrode and a temperature sensor to detect a temperature of the measurement object. A measurement monitoring unit detects whether the first and second sensor electrodes are electrically connected to each other. A salinity measurement unit applies an AC power to the first and second sensor electrodes to measure salinity of the measurement object. A temperature measurement unit applies a power to the temperature sensor to measure the temperature of the measurement object. A thermal equilibrium detection unit stores the temperature value previously measured, and when the temperature variation is less than a predetermined threshold, it is determined as a thermal equilibrium state. A room-temperature salinity conversion unit converts the salinity value into a salinity value at room temperature.

  • Publication number: 20090246083
Abstract: An invention is provided for encouraging routine testing for TDS levels in a liquid. The invention includes a conductivity sensor capable of sensing a conductivity level of a liquid, and a processor in electrical communication with the conductivity sensor. The processor has logic that calculates a TDS level for the liquid based on the conductivity level of the liquid. The calculated TDS level for the liquid is then displayed on a display in electrical communication with the processor. Also included is a speaker, which is electrical communication with the processor. To provide automatic reminders to the user, an integrated timing mechanism is included that is in communication with the processor. When a predetermined period of time has elapsed, such as the period of time between periodic TDS level testing, the integrated timing mechanism sends a signal to the processor to provide an alert to the user to test the TDS level.

  • Publication number: 20090242493
Abstract: An invention is provided for encouraging routine testing for TDS levels in a liquid. The invention includes determining a TDS level of the liquid utilizing an apparatus capable of determining a TDS level based on the conductivity of the liquid. Next, corrective action can be performed to reduce the TDS level when the TDS level is beyond a predetermined level. To facilitate a continual visual reminder for future TDS level testing, the apparatus is removably attached to a surface viewable when in proximity of a device utilized to access the liquid utilizing an integrated attachment mechanism.
