  • Publication number: 20160333317
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of promoting generation of exosomes from stem cell by using thrombin. The method according to the present invention has superior effects of promoting generation of stem cell-derived exosomes and thus exosomes can be more efficiently obtained thereby compared to conventionally known methods. In addition, the method can be useful for related research.

  • Publication number: 20160310534
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating cerebrovascular diseases including stem cell-derived exosomes as an active ingredient. The stem cell-derived exosomes according to the present invention have superior nerve cell protective effects, such as inhibition of cerebral ventricular distention, reduction of hydrocephalus, and inhibition of nerve cell death and cellular inflammation in an intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) animal model, and thus, can be useful in treating cerebrovascular diseases including intraventricular hemorrhage, etc.

  • Publication number: 20160000831
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for treating inflammatory brain diseases which includes a stem cell as an active ingredient. When the stem cell according to the present invention is directly administered to animal models with inflammatory brain diseases, a brain damage caused by inflammation such as edema is significantly reduced, the weight-loss phenomenon is greatly improved, and the like, and thus the cell has an excellent effect in treating inflammatory brain diseases and consequently can be used effectively in treating inflammatory brain diseases.

  • Publication number: 20140072527
Abstract: Disclosed is a composition for the prophylaxis or therapy of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants comprising mensenchymal stem cells. Functioning to prevent ventricular dilatation and reduce the level of inflammatory cytokines in cerebrospinal fluid, the composition comprising mesenchymal stem cells is advantageously useful for the prophylaxis or therapy of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants. Accordingly, the composition is effectively preventive of hydrocephalus which occurs subsequent to intraventricular hemorrhage. In addition, the composition makes not only a histological and biochemical recuperation in the intraventricular hemorrhage-injured brain, but also significantly improves sensory motor functions. Mesenchymal stem cells can be used as an effective therapeutic agent because they are less prone to induce immune rejection responses and are highly likely to secrete proliferative, differentiative, and regulatory factors.

  • Publication number: 20070178073
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising separated or proliferated cells from umbilical cord blood for treating developmental and/or chronic lung disease, more precisely a composition containing separated or proliferated cells from umbilical cord blood for intratracheal administration for treating developmental and/or chronic lung disease. The cells of the composition of the present invention have excellent activities of proliferation and differentiation, so that the extraction, separation and selection of a tissue donor are all very easy. Besides, the composition of the invention can be very effectively used for the treatment of developmental and/or chronic diseases by intratracheal administration.
