Publication number: 20080291591Abstract: A radio-frequency apparatus with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection is provided. The radio-frequency apparatus including an antenna, an inductor, a capacitor and a radio-frequency circuit receives a radio-frequency signal by the antenna. When the radio-frequency signal is transmitted to the radio-frequency apparatus, an electrostatic signal may invade into the radio-frequency apparatus via the antenna. Here, the radio-frequency signal can be transmitted and the electrostatic signal can be blocked by the capacitor, while the radio-frequency signal can be blocked and the electrostatic signal can be transmitted by the inductor. Therefore, when an ESD event occurs, the electrostatic signal is transmitted to ground through the inductor. Furthermore, the impedance value of the capacitor remains in a first range and that of the inductor remains in a second range, such that the electrostatic signal with a specific voltage is blocked by an impedance matching circuit formed by the capacitor and the inductor.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2007Publication date: November 27, 2008Applicant: HIGH TECH COMPUTER, CORP.Inventors: Wan-Hsiang Huang, Yun-Ta Chen

Patent number: 7298336Abstract: An antenna structure for operating multi-band system is disclosed. The antenna structure at least comprises a first radiation metal wire and a second radiation metal wire. These radiation metal wires send signal through the same feed point and provide a ground surface. The radiation metal wires are embedded into the circuit board having a hole. The design avoids the complexity of the antenna structure, reduces cost, and improves production capabilities. The length of the first radiation metal wire is bigger than the second radiation metal wire for using in a low frequency operating band and the second radiation metal wire is used in a high frequency operating band. These radiation metal wires can be fixed into the hole of the circuit board. The entwining of the radiation metal wires can bend according to a space provided by a case. Therefore, the antenna structure can be protected by the case without damages from outside forces.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2005Date of Patent: November 20, 2007Assignee: High Tech Computer Corp.Inventors: Yun-Ta Chen, Yen-Liang Kuo
