  • Publication number: 20030151879
Abstract: The present invention relates to a capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch and method of manufacturing the same. In the capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch for use in the radio frequency (RF) and the microwave driven by the electrostatic force, a capacitor of a 3-dimensional structure is formed on a signal transmission line. An ON capacitance is increased without increasing an capacitor area while preventing an increase in an OFF capacitance using the capacitor. Thus, an ON/OFF capacitance ratio of the capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch can be increased and insertion loss and isolation characteristic could be improved.

  • Publication number: 20030132822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a micro-electromechanical actuator. An electromagnetic-type micro-electromechanical actuator of the present invention has a conductive beam formed in a micro electronic substrate on an upper side of a magnetic substance, so that the conductive beam can be moved toward an in-plane mode in parallel to the micro electronic substrate depending on a direction that current flows. Therefore, the micro-electromechanical actuator can be applied to most of electromagnetic micro-electromechanical systems that require an in-plane mode.

  • Publication number: 20030048598
Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a main board fixed inside a case that mounts various circuit parts, an LCD module positioned at an upper side of the main board that has an LCD, an internal frame and a touch screen and an LCD module connecting unit installed for electronic connection between the main board and the LCD module when the main board and the LCD module are mutually combined or assembled. Since the main board connector is installed at the main board and the LCD connector is mounted at one side of the LCD module, when the LCD module is assembled at the main board, the LCD connector and the main board connector are mutually connected. Thus, no electric connection work is necessary, and thus, its assembling is simple and assembly process can be shortened. Further, the LCD module connecting unit can directly connect the main board and the LCD module through a support member therebetween that can include a heat sink for the main board.

  • Patent number: 6342427
Abstract: A method for forming a micro cavity is disclosed. In the method for forming the cavity, a first layer is formed on a silicon layer and a trench is formed in the silicon layer by selectively etching the silicon layer. A second and a third layers are formed on the trench and on the silicon layer. Etching holes are formed through the third layer by partially etching the third layer. A cavity is formed between the silicon layer and the third layer after the second layer is removed through the etching holes. Therefore, the cavity having a large size can be easily formed and sealed in the silicon layer by utilizing the volume expansion of the silicon or the poly silicon layer. Also, a vacuum micro cavity can be formed according as a low vacuum CVD oxide layer or a nitride layer formed on the etching holes which are partially opened after the thermal oxidation process by controlling the size of the etching holes concerning the other portion of the poly silicon layer.
