  • Publication number: 20230419614
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an integrated platform allowing multiple users to share and exchange motion, position, image and other data of a set of replicas or phantoms mimicking genuine objects used in real life scientific laboratory within a common virtual space resembling a scientific laboratory, where the motion and position data are tracked real-time by multiple sensors embedded into the phantoms and transformed using a physically accurate rendering approach into dynamic images of their corresponding genuine objects to be displayed in an augmented reality projection, so that the users can remotely connect to the platform via a portable device to learn and practice skills of handling laboratory apparatuses from experiencing in the common virtual space with one or more of the phantoms.

  • Patent number: 11152197
Abstract: A method of determining a cell cycle stage distribution of cells includes the steps of providing a cell sample; pre-treating the cell sample with a solvent; mixing the pre-treated cell sample with a matrix solution to obtain a mixture solution; depositing the mixture solution on a sample plate; obtaining a mass spectrum analysis of the deposited mixture solution; and identifying at least two marker peaks from the mass spectrum analysis, wherein a ratio between the marker peaks provides information about a cell cycle stage distribution of the cell sample, wherein the mass spectrum analysis is a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrum test.

  • Patent number: 11065296
Abstract: In various embodiments, a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of a peptide having the amino acid sequence represented by Formula (I) or an analog thereof, and a pharmaceutically tolerable excipient is described. In some embodiments, the analog of the peptide of Formula (I), comprises the peptide sequence of Formula (I) wherein one or more of the amino acids residues are modified by a) C-terminal modification; b) D-amino acid substitution; and/or c) deletion of one or more amino acid residues. A method of inhibiting the growth of a microorganism comprising contacting the microorganism in a medium with an effective amount of the peptide of Formula (I) or an analog thereof is also described, as are similar methods of treating a disease or disorder associated with microbial activity in a subject by administering an effective amount of a peptide of Formula (I) or an analog thereof and a pharmaceutically tolerable excipient to the subject.
