    Abstract: A cross-layer QoS management method comprises monitoring a sequence of video frames (e.g., I, P and B frames of an MPEG video sequence) in a layer above the MAC layer; determining video frame sizes and a pattern of video frames per unit time; predicting a future data rate for a future time based on the video frame sizes and the pattern of video frames per unit time; and adjusting parameters (e.g., AIFS, CW, CWmax, CWmin) in the MAC layer based on the predicted future data rate for the future time, the parameters being associated with a time value for allowing access to a wireless medium.

    Abstract: A method comprises buffering at least one frame for a particular access class, e.g., video, in a transmission queue; performing contention-based procedures for access to a wireless medium; computing the size of the at least one frame in the transmission queue; predicting the size of at least one future frame expected to arrive in the transmission queue during transmission, e.g., using a time-domain or wavelet-domain prediction algorithm, of the at least one frame in the transmission queue on the wireless medium, possibly using a known pattern of frames, e.g., an MPEG GoP; and adjusting a MAC layer time value, e.g., TXOP, based on the size of the at least one frame in the transmission queue and the predicted size of the at least one future frame.

    Abstract: For example: DC-9 Airplane have 120 seats, five for one row, from left to right have “A” “B” “C” “D” “E”, “A” and “E” are by windows, between “B” and “C” is aisle, from front to back, there are 24 rows. Current Air line will send passenger seat in row 18-24 as first group to board, then 11-17, then after 2-10. Use this way have tow disadvantage: few persons go to one row, it need few times for each person put luggage on gear and take seat; if not the one by windows take seat first, when some one need go in, they will leave seat let him in and take seat again. This is time consume. It will be twenty minutes for DC-9 boarding passenger once. Therefore use the method I claim now, by windows go first avoid swap seat and every row has passenger set luggage take seat at same time. Theoretically it will take teen minutes to board DC-9 once.

    Abstract: A catalyst for the polymerization of propylene comprising components (A), (B) and (C) is provided. Component (A) is a solid product prepared by dissolving a halide of magnesium in a solvent system consisting of an organic epoxy compound, an organic phosphorus compound and an inert diluent to form a homogeneous solution; mixing the homogeneous solution with a halide of titanium to form a mixture; precipitating a solid from the mixture in the presence of an auxiliary precipitant; treating the solid with a polycarboxylic ester to load the ester on the solid; and treating the ester loaded solid with the halide of titanium and the inert diluent. Component (B) is an organic aluminium compound, and component (C) is an organic silicon compound. The particle size of the catalyst can be adjusted by increasing the amount of the inert diluent at a low ratio of the epoxy compound to the phosphorus compound.
