    Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling the direction of manipulation of a control button of a terminal are disclosed. The apparatus includes a position detection unit and a direction control unit. The position detection unit detects the position of a terminal based on a signal of a sensor. The direction control unit changes the direction of manipulation of a control button physically attached to the terminal and adapted to receive various types of control commands from a user in response to the detected position of the terminal.
