  • Patent number: 9415011
Abstract: Provided is a method for treatment of liver cancer and inhibition of metastasis with CXCR4-targeted nanoparticle. A CXCR4 antagonist is used as a targeting molecule to modify a lipid carrier for the formation of nanoparticle carrying an anti-angiogenesis drug or an anti-angiogenic nucleotide. Such nanoparticle can enhance the accumulation and uptake of the drug and nucleotide in liver cancer cells as well as sensitize the liver cancer cells to treatment of said drug and nucleotide, providing a synergistic suppression of angiogenesis and tumor progression. Furthermore, the CXCR4-targeted nanoparticle can effectively inhibit metastasis of liver cancer. The pharmaceutical composition is an injectable composition; hence, is suitable for clinical application for the treatment of liver cancer.

  • Publication number: 20160166700
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for ameliorating liver fibrosis in a subject. The present invention utilizes copolymers of polyethylene glycol and poly (D, L-lactide-co-glycolide) to form nanoparticle composition containing tyrosine kinase inhibitor, such as Sorafenib. The use of nanoparticle composition is non-toxic and can increase the stability and decrease the release of drug in blood circulation. The pharmaceutical composition is in an injectable form. The nanoparticle composition containing tyrosine kinase inhibitor of the present invention can effectively ameliorate liver fibrosis including decreasing extracellular matrix accumulation, suppressing hepatic stellate cell activity, shrinking of abnormal blood vessel, and lowering microvascular density in fibrotic liver; hence is suitable for clinical application for the treatment of liver fibrosis.

  • Publication number: 20150025861
Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed that allow phenotype-related data to be aggregated from any number of online sources. A statistical model may be generated using the aggregated data that, based on (epi)genome, microbiome, or other omics information regarding a subject, predicts the probability of the subject having the phenotype.

  • Publication number: 20080220409
Abstract: Antigens and B-cell epitopes derived from dengue virus type 1 are provided. The antigens are specifically immunoreactive with sera from individuals infected with dengue virus type 1 but not reactive with sera from healthy individuals and individuals infected with dengue virus type 2. The antigens and epitopes are useful for development of diagnostic kits and reagents, and are useful tools as well in determining whether an individual is infected with dengue virus type 1, and for distinguishing infection from dengue virus type 2.

  • Patent number: 6267178
Abstract: A built-up heat exchanger including a seat and a plurality of radiators superposed on a top of the seat is provided. The seat is made of a thermal conductive material in sheet form and has at least two notches formed on a top surface thereof. The a plurality of radiators are made of a thermal conductive material in sheet form and are punched to form a plurality of upward extended fins and at least two downward projected ridges corresponding to the at least two notches on the seat, such that any of the radiators may be superposed on the top surface of the seat with the at least two downward projected ridges fitly received in the at least two notches. Since the number of fins formed on each radiator and the number of radiators superposed on the seat may be freely decided depending on actual need, the built-up heat exchanger may be used in different applications.
