    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an evaluation method of a pathogen inactivation effect, including: evaluating an inactivation effect with a maximum value of effective pathogen inactivation (MVEPI) as a standard reference index; where the MVEPI refers to a maximum of a log reduction factor after pathogen solutions of different concentrations before inactivation are treated according to a same inactivation method. The MVEPI can be obtained through the following steps: inactivating a sample containing pathogens with different initial concentrations through a pathogen inactivation method of tested pathogens; detecting changes in the concentration of pathogens with different initial concentrations before and after pathogen inactivation; and analyzing a relationship between the concentration of pathogens before inactivation and the concentration of pathogens after inactivation and the concentration before inactivation by linear fitting and other methods.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a riboflavin photochemical treatment (RPT)-based inactivation method of pathogens in a biological liquid sample. Aiming at the problems existing in the current riboflavin-based pathogen inactivation methods, a technical solution of the present disclosure is to provide an RPT-based inactivation method of pathogens in a biological liquid sample, including the following steps: adding riboflavin to a biological liquid sample to be treated, and conducting irradiation on the biological liquid sample with light; where the light is narrow-spectrum ultraviolet (UV) light with a wavelength of 360 nm to 370 nm and/or 390 nm to 400 nm. In the present disclosure, parameters such as an irradiation time, an irradiation intensity, and a riboflavin concentration are further optimized. The inactivation method can achieve an excellent pathogen inactivation effect, and has little damage to other components in the biological liquid sample.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a pathogen inactivation method, which is low-frequency sonication together with illumination of a photosensitizer-containing blood sample; and the low-frequency sonication is conducted at a frequency of 15-500 KHz. Through the combination of sonication and photochemical pathogen inactivation technology that enhance and complement each other, the blood pathogen inactivation method provided by the present disclosure enhances a pathogen inactivation effect, reduces a dosage of the photosensitizer, photosensitizer-related blood quality damage, energy demand for the illumination, and pathogen inactivation treatment time, increases the blood illumination thickness for effective pathogen inactivation, saves illumination bag materials, shortens the size of illumination equipment, saves costs, and helps the pathogen inactivation technology go to the market.
