  • Patent number: 6924913
Abstract: A multiple-resolution scanning device introduces an image information obtained by scanning a document into a light folding device and the image information is reflected in the light folding device. The image information comes out from the light folding device and received and reflected by a final reflection mirror unit, and passes through a lens unit and then focused on an optical sensor. By adjusting the light folding device or the final reflection mirror unit, or by adjusting the light source and the light folding device to change the position or angle thereof to achieve the purpose of changing the path of light of the image information and obtain the scanned results having different resolutions.

  • Publication number: 20050123182
Abstract: This invention provides a temperature sensor to sense a temperature profile of a target surfaces and to judge whether the high-temperature area, having a temperature higher than a predetermined temperature, of the target surface is a major area. The temperature sensor comprises an image capturing module, an image processing module, an image database and a comparison module. The image capturing module is used to measure the temperature profile of the target surface and capture a heat image of the target object. The image processing module is used to label the high-temperature area wherein the temperature is high than a predetermined temperature. The image database stores a plurality of images of the major areas. The comparison module compares an image of the high-temperature area with the image of the major area stored in an image database and decides whether the high-temperature area is the major area.

  • Publication number: 20040207742
Abstract: A charge-coupled device (CCD) sensing apparatus is provided. The CCD sensing apparatus includes a first photo sensor set and a first CCD shift register. The first photo sensor set includes a number of first photo-sensors for receiving light signals and generating multiple corresponding first charge signals. The first CCD shift register includes a first CCD component set and a second CCD component set. The first CCD component set can receive part of the first charge signals and output them to a first charge storage component, while the second CCD component set can receive part of the remaining first charge signals and output them to a second charge storage component.

  • Patent number: 6760071
Abstract: A method of transferring charges for a CCD image-sensing device. First, the K register elements (every k register elements) are defined as a charge-combining portion, thereby providing m charge-combining portions. The y image-sensing elements sense incident light energy to generate y charge packets proportional to the light intensity. Then, the y charge packets are transferred in a parallel manner to the CCD shift register. The charge packets coupled to each of the m charge-combining portions are accumulated into one specific register element when the k register elements have coupled the charge packets from the image-sensing elements, thereby generating m adding charge packets in the m charge-combining portions. Finally, each of the adding charge packets is serially delivered to the output of the CCD shift register, converting the adding charge packets into proportional voltage levels.

  • Patent number: 6480317
Abstract: A scanning apparatus capable of locating a scanning starting point. The scanning apparatus includes a housing, a carriage, and a calibration paper. The housing includes a scanning platen for supporting a document to be scanned. The calibration paper is mounted on the scanning platen, adjoins one of the shorter sides of the scanning platen, and has a marked area. The marked area is defined by a set of functions and includes the scanning starting point for indicating users to locate the document to be scanned on the scanning platen according to the scanning starting point. When the carriage is moved to a scanning line, the carriage locates the scanning starting point according to the intersections of the marked area being scanned and the scanning line, and the set of functions defining the marked area.
