  • Patent number: 7554284
Abstract: An inductive contactless starter for single-phase AC motor, comprising a current inductor and a triac; wherein, one terminal of secondary coil of said current inductor is connected to the gate electrode of said triac, the other terminal is both connected to the first electrode of said triac and the terminal of secondary winding of the motor, and the two terminals of primary coil of said current inductor are connected to the motor and the power supply. By sampling relevant current signals with said current inductor, the invention can control heat loss of the current sampling system effectively down to milliwatt level (i.e., the starter is a “zero power loss”starter for single-phase AC motors), and thereby improve energy efficiency greatly; in addition, the invention has a simple circuit and fewer components and is reliable, improving reliability of the electric starter system while delivering electric starting function.

  • Patent number: 7391179
Abstract: An inductive contactless starter can be provided for single-phase AC motor, which can be designed to start a compressor motor with a starting capacitor or a common single-phase AC motor. The starter can comprise a current mutual-inductor composed of two primary coils and a secondary coil, a gate capacitor, a triac, and a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) resistor. By sampling relevant current signals with the current mutual-inductor, the starter can effectively control heat loss of the current sampling system down to milliwatt level (i.e., the starter is a “zero power loss” starter for single-phase AC motor), and thereby can improve energy efficiency greatly. Additionally, the starter can have a simple circuit and fewer components, and is reliable, improving reliability of the motor starting system while delivering motor starting function.

  • Publication number: 20080018294
Abstract: An electronic circuit for starting a single phase induction motor operating from a source of alternating current, the motor having a cage type rotor, a coiled stator having at least a main winding and a starting winding, and a permanent capacitor connected in series with the starting winding. The permanent capacitor and the starting winding are connected in parallel to the alternating current source and the main winding in series. A TRIAC has a first terminal connected to one side of the alternating current source and a second terminal connected to the starting winding and to the permanent capacitor. A TRIAC trigger circuit is connected between the TRIAC second terminal and its GATE terminal and a bilateral switch is connected to the TRIAC GATE terminal.
