  • Publication number: 20200154999
Abstract: A multimodal interferometric tear film measurement system can include an optical coherence tomography (OCT) system and a thickness dependent fringe (TDF) system. The multimodal interferometric tear film measurement system (multimodal interferometry system) can include a hot mirror dual focusing system that allows the OCT system's light signals and the TDF system's light signals to be individually focused while both are simultaneously directed towards the eye. The multimodal interferometry system can provide OCT and TDF measurements simultaneously. The OCT system can provide measurements of the thickness of the entire tear film, while the TDF system can provide measurements of the thickness of the lipid layer of the tear film. The multimodal interferometry system can provide in vivo measurements of both lipid layer and overall tear film.
