Patent number: 11473038Abstract: The invention relates to a process to make high water bars with a high speed extrusion process by using specific types and amounts of electrolytes in combination. The bars are produced with no negatives generally associated with use of electrolytes. Disclosed is an extruded soap bar composition wherein the bar comprises: a) 20 to 40% of water; b) 20 to 75% by wt. anhydrous soap; wherein C16 to C24 saturated soap comprises 12% to 45% by wt. of total bar. c) structurants comprises at least from 0.05 to 35% by wt.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2020Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: CONOPCO, INC.Inventors: Gislene Splendore Bortolai, Sergio Roberto Leopoldino, Enio Mitsuki Oura, Yuriy Konstantinovich Yarovoy, Rodrigo Alves De Mattos

Patent number: 11111462Abstract: The present invention relates to bars comprising soap bar matrix comprising predominantly long chain length soap and regions or domains interspersed within the matrix comprising predominantly shorter chain soaps. The novel bars of the invention are sufficiently hard to survive large scale manufacturing while simultaneously delivering benefits of significant foam value enhancement, for example, due to delivery of short-chain soaps from concentrated regions. Surprisingly, even when soaps in concentrated regions comprise small percentage of overall soap oils or fats used, they form observable kappa phase pattern.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2016Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: Conopco, Inc.Inventors: Rafael Astolfi, Jorge Luiz Basso, Sergio Roberto Leopoldino, Luiz Felipe Costa Vidigal, Venugopal Vijayakrishnan, Yuriy Konstantinovich Yarovoy

Publication number: 20190284513Abstract: The present invention relates to predominantly (50% or greater) soap bars made from oil or oils of defined iodine value. Unexpectedly, it has been found that, when defined amounts of potassium soap are used, bars made from oils falling within the defined IV range have excellent extrusion rates (as defined by falling within defined hardness values) without exhibiting excessive cracking, while exhibiting wear and mush values associated with lower IV and surprising lather values not expected from bars made from lower IV oils. This is a unique and unexpected simultaneous accumulation of attributes. Further, unexpected perfume performance (e.g., bloom) is also found.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2017Publication date: September 19, 2019Applicant: Conopco, Inc., d/b/a UNILEVERInventors: Rafael ASTOLFI, Sergio Roberto LEOPOLDINO, Enio Mitsuki OURA, Georgia L.
