  • Patent number: 8844312
Abstract: A method of operating an ice making machine efficiently provides clean ice blocks. A special water-discharge operation which is performed when an ice storage switch (TS) provided at an ice storage chamber (16) storing ice blocks (M) separated in a deicing operation detects that the ice storage chamber (16) is full of ice discharges the ice-making water from the ice-making water tank (20) via water discharge means (44) by releasing a water discharge valve (DV) provided at the water discharge means (44). Then, the special water-discharge operation is terminated by closing the water discharge valve (DV) when a preset duration time (T) passes after a float switch (FS) provided at the ice-making water tank (20) detects an ice-making completion water level (LWL) of the ice-making water in the ice-making water tank (20) after discharge of the ice-making water to outside is started.

  • Publication number: 20110120169
Abstract: There is provided a water sprinkle pipe for a downflow type ice making machine that regulates a flow of ice making water to suppress generation of turbulence and can uniformly supply the ice making water from water sprinkle holes. A water sprinkle pipe (22) comprises: a pipe body (24) that is arranged to extend above an ice making section, has a flow region (38) for the ice making water defined therein, and has one end communicating with a discharge opening of a circulation pump (30); and a plurality of water sprinkle holes (26) provided in a lower surface of the pipe body (24) in an extending direction. A regulation portion (40) protruding from an inner surface of the pipe body (24) to the flow region (38) side to locally narrow the flow region (38) is provided on an upper surface of the pipe body (24) on an upstream side of the upstream-most water sprinkle holes (26). Further, a semicircular regulation portion (42) is formed on a downstream side of the regulation portion (40) in the pipe body (24).

  • Publication number: 20100307182
Abstract: The object is to prevent decrease in efficiency in making ice, penetration of dust into an ice making chamber, and the like and also simplify operation of taking in and out an ice making water tank. A tank housing area 30 is provided from an ice making chamber across a machine chamber 12, and an ice making water tank T is housed, allowing it to be drawn out, in the tank housing area 30. A motor mounting member 36 sectioning the machine chamber 12 and the tank housing area 30 is detachably placed on an upper end placement portion 32B of a partition wall 32 sectioning the machine chamber 12 and the tank housing area 30. A pump motor PM is mounted on a side of the motor mounting member 36 facing the machine chamber 12, and a pump WP is mounted on a side of the motor mounting member 36 facing the tank housing area 30. The motor mounting member 36 is supported from below by motor support pieces 74 provided in the ice making water tank T.

  • Publication number: 20100139305
Abstract: The object is to provide an ice making water tank for an automatic ice making machine capable of stabilizing the operation of a float switch. As a means for achieving the object, there is provided an overflow portion 64 having a wall portion 58 to define a maximum water storage level of ice making water, and a raised-bottom portion 60 to discharge excess ice making water that has overflowed the wall portion 58 to the outside through a discharge port 62 on a side near the outside of a tank portion 52 of an ice making water tank 32. Furthermore, a partition member 68 is removably disposed on the overflow portion 64 side with respect to the disposed position of the circulation pump 14 in the tank portion 52 to divide the inside of the tank portion 52 into two regions, and to allow ice making water near the bottom portion 56 to flow between the two regions. In addition, a float switch 26 is disposed between the partition member 68 and the overflow portion 64 in the tank portion 52.
