  • Patent number: 11997618
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to provide a power headroom report (PHR) to a network. The UE receives a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration from a base station of the wireless network, wherein the PUSCH configuration includes a plurality of beams over which PUSCH repetitions should be transmitted, determines at least one power headroom report (PHR) based on a power control parameter set corresponding to at least one of the plurality of beams or PUSCH repetitions and transmits the at least one PHR to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11997591
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for differentiating between licensed and unlicensed bands in a common portion of frequency spectrum to facilitate initial access in a fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) wireless communication system having an NR node. The techniques include an NR generating and UE processing frequency configuration information indicating whether the common portion of frequency spectrum is allocated as a licensed band or an unlicensed band to enable a determination that the frequency spectrum is configured as the licensed band or unlicensed band and thereby facilitate initial access.

  • Publication number: 20240172148
Abstract: Techniques described herein may enable base stations and user equipment (UEs) to implement initial access related signaling that may vary the number of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) transmitted by a base station to better ensure that control frame transmissions (e.g., 120 kilohertz (kHz) subcarrier spacing (SCS) transmissions) are not overly encumbered by SSBs. A base station may indicate whether a discovery burst transmission window (DBTW) is enabled or disabled, whether listen-before-talk (LBT) is enabled or disabled, and whether transmissions correspond to a licensed band, unlicensed band, or combination thereof. The base station may also indicate a number of candidate SSBs per DBTW and/or which SSBs/SSB groups are active (e.g., actually transmitted) per discovery burst (DB).

  • Publication number: 20240172149
Abstract: A base station and user equipment (UE) may determine, based on a synchronization signal block (SSB) burst and an offset, an index slot, of a system frame number (SFN), corresponding to a Type0-PDCCH common search space (CSS). The base station may transmit, and the UE may receive, a PDCCH signal that includes the Type0-PDCCH CSS, such that the UE may monitor the Type0-PDCCH CSS from the base station. The offset (Ou) may be hardcoded as one of values 0, 2.5, 5, or 7.5, and one offset value may be used for one, more than one, or all SCS numerologies. The offset may be modified by a delta (?) value, a scaling factor, and/or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240172049
Abstract: A method is to provide traffic related information in lower layers for an XR system and associated apparatuses. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) is configured to receive traffic related information from a peer UE or an application server. The UE then transmits the traffic related information to a base station (BS) using a radio resource control (RRC) message such as UEAssistanceInformation as provided by 3GPP technical specifications, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The transmission of the traffic related information from the UE enhances the wireless communication service for the XR system.

  • Patent number: 11984948
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for port selection codebook configuration. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of parameter settings of a port selection codebook. The port selection codebook includes a port selection matrix W1, a combinational coefficient matrix W2, and a frequency basis selection matrix Wf. Based at least in part on the parameter settings, the UE selects L CSI-RS ports, Mv frequency basis from a window of N consecutive frequency basis; and up to beta*L*Mv entries per layer, where beta is a percentage of the L*Mv entries per layer. The UE reports one or more of the port selection matrix W1, the up to beta*L*Mv entries in the combinational coefficient matrix W2 per layer, and the frequency basis selection matrix Wf to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11985661
Abstract: Systems and methods provide channel state information (CSI) measurement based on measuring a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission. A UE may determine the DMRS for the PDSCH transmission with frequency hopping, and measure the DMRS for the PDSCH transmission to determine a CSI measurement. Abstract: A user equipment (UE), a base station (e.g., next generation NodeB (gNB)), or other network component can operate to configure multiple transmission reception point (mTRP) communication for new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) standalone communications in a network. A processor or processing circuitry can acquire or share a channel occupancy time (COT) for a first transmission reception point (TRP). The COT can then be mediated with a UE or a second TRP via an ideal backhaul or an ideal backhaul based on a proximity condition. The COT can be shared between the first and second TRP via X2 signaling over an X2 interface.

  • Patent number: 11979760
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) monitors a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in multiple component carriers (CC). The UE determines if the UE is operating in carrier aggregation (CA) mode having a first CC in a first frequency band and a second CC in a second frequency band. When the UE is operating in CA with a first CC in the first frequency band and the second CC in the second frequency band, the UE determines a span pattern for PDCCH symbols being received on the first and second CC and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the span pattern. A UE also determines if a first CC and a second CC of a CA combination are collocated and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the determination of whether the first and second CC are collocated.

  • Patent number: 11979829
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may perform sounding reference signal (SRS) switching by transmitting one or more SRS using a plurality of SRS resources of an SRS resource set configured for SRS switching according to a first combination of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) antenna ports. For UE power saving, the UE may turn off one or more of the DL and UL antenna ports. The UE may then reconfigure the plurality of SRS resources of the SRS resource set for SRS switching according to a second combination of the DL and UL antenna ports. In response to a power saving message from a UE, a base station may generate SRS configuration information to configure an SRS resource set for SRS antenna switching based on a combination of active DL and UL antenna ports at the UE, and send the SRS configuration information to the UE.
